The lovely
dollsome gave me both these memes; I love few things more than I love memes, and so, here we are.
Respond to this and i'll pick seven of your lj interests for you to explain in a new post.

Burn Notice
Burn Notice is a show about spies, which I love, set in Miami, which I also love, and had Tricia Helfer as a guest star, which was actually disappointing. Despite their criminal misuse of such talent, BN has a really fun cast and it's really lively and awesome to watch. You get spy tips and explanations and Michael Westen is one of the greatest spies ever and Fi! FIONA IS FANTASTIC! And Sam Axe is played by Bruce Campbell, who is always enjoyable. Anyway, this show is great and I highly recommend it.
I chose Fi because... I love Fi.
Hot people in space
I like people to be aesthetically pleasing in any show or movie that I watch, but BSG has a really high number of unusually attractive people on it. Space in general seems to be full of especially pretty people- Harrison Ford and Nathan Fillion are two leading men IN SPACE. Also, just taking the BSGverse into consideration, they have a race of robots who created a line of just-barely-not-human robots who look like Tricia Helfer. THERE IS NO ONE HOTTER. For proof, see my LJ header.

Margaret Atwood
Margaret Atwood is the author of my all-time favorite book, The Blind Assassin, and a number of other books that, while not my favorites, certainly rank highly in my estimation. She just has this way of writing that is poetic and lovely and she thinks of things that you felt in your heart of hearts and never got out. Because she is magic.
Princess Leia
Princess Leia was one of my first real heroines. Before that I had liked Maria from The Sound of Music and Erica Kane and Rose DeWitt-Bukater and Xena in a vague sort of way, but Princess Leia was my first real hardcore heroine. She was tiny, and so brave! In three movies she was almost entirely awesome the whole time, and I appreciate that. Also, she got a space cowboy. She's living the dream.
Tricia Helfer
If you've read more than an entry on my LJ, you are aware of my intense and overwhelming affection for my TV Girlfriend Tricia Helfer. I believe that were joy, or delight, or magic, or wonder, or hope, to take a human form, it would take the form of Tricia Janine. Not only do I think she is drop-dead gorgeous, but she also is an surprisingly talented actress. And I say surprisingly because you'd figure that when you're as pretty as she is (read: more than any human being should ever aspire to be,) you really wouldn't work on honing any skills. To modify a quote of Cristina Yang's on Grey's Anatomy, if I were Tricia, I wouldn't know how to read or have any skills; I would just walk around, being tall and beautiful and possibly naked. However, since Tricia is a better person than I am, she decided to do something with her life and grace us all with her incredibly moving performances. ALSO, she has this unsettling ability to play identical people so differently that you can identify them by the set of their face. Like, withGrace Park most people, you would not be able to identify different personalities between identical or near identical copies just based on their appearance- with the Sixes, you can. Caprica is not Shelly is not Sonja, though they all look identical. Lida is not Natalie is not Gina, though they have the same hair. They have different personalities and it shows. And this isn't even glancing the surface of the many reasons I love Tricia. In brief: I find Tricia Helfer an absolute delight.
To aid you in your visual quest for perfection:

Kara Thrace/Sam Anders
When I was being baited to watch BSG, my friend
yubsie tried to get me interested by showing me pictures of Kara and Lee together. She assumed that I would ship them- which I don't blame her, because historically, I ship the show-sponsored ship- and, had I started watching BSG when it started, I would've been all over them. The second time I watched the show, I got really attached to Kara, and for the first time I really paid attention to her romantic entanglements- and realized that Samuel T. Anders is the most perfect man in that universe. Search your feelings- you know this to be true. Kara and Lee are just angst and misery; Kara and Sam are angst but also lightheartedness and banter and sweetness and true joy. Kara and Lee might have the banter and joy as friends, but I never once saw it when they were romantically... whatevering. Sam just loves Kara, 100%. He doesn't ask her to be anything, he doesn't expect anything from her, and, he doesn't come to the relationship with all this baggage he wants to cry about or blame on her. He's there to support her in whatever she chooses, and Kara kind of... emerges from her shell and truly just loves Sam. It's not perfect, but it's real and I adore them. They are my lovers in a dangerous time, and, the only couple that I've watched fall in love in like a day that I don't ridicule.
Lauren Reed
The first episode of Alias I ever watched live was Full Disclosure. I had already seen most of season three by that point, and whatever I had missed I had been filled in by my friends, and if there was one thing I knew, it was this: I hated Lauren Reed. I hated Lauren Reed with an unholy passion.
And then the episode ended with Lauren being revealed as a bad guy, and I was like LAUREN I LOVE YOU BB and her hair and makeup got spectacular and she was just sassing up the place all over and I just adored her. Plus, if she hadn't been evil and Vaughn hadn't been a douche who got married before he fully got over his dead girlfriend, I think the Vaughns could've had a nice, cute little relationship!
I can't find a clip of Lauren, so have Melissa George being darling. Plus, bonus Justin Theroux.
I pick six of your icons for you to explain, you offer the same for your commenters.

"And I'll dance with you in Vienna; I'll be wearing a river's disguise."
I think this icon is just so striking in its beauty! It almost looks old-fashioned, with the faded colors, and I love how Six and Gaius are far away but still very much the focus. They look eternal and important there, don't they?

BSG- ellen high fashion-
jeebs83
"In the garden the Snake was a charmin' and Eve said, let's give it a try."
OMG, Ellen looks so gorgeous here. I use "high fashion" in the keywords because this is something you would see in a photo shoot that is not in a catalogue but in Vanity Fair or Bazaar. The lighting, the grass behind her, Ellen's hopeful expression as her curls brush over her face in the wind... it's such a beautiful composition.

BSG- menage a awkward-
smercy
"Oh, how can heaven hold a place for me when a girl like you has cast a spell on me?"
I like that this icon captures Gaius/Six flirting and Lauroslin's incredulity, all in one tiny square. It's impressive.

Thranders- newlyweds-
xmaidelx
"Take my hand and we'll make it, I swear."
OH MY GOD, LOOK AT THEM. I can hardly stand how adorable they are. They're married and beaming at one another and she's holding on to his finger and they are darling, damn. Plus, I find the purple-ish tint very visually appealing.

BSG- unexpected ship-
triniroslin15
"Is it over now, do you know how to pick up the pieces and go home"
This is my #1 crack pairing, because it's like a frakked up math problem- if I ship Gaius/Caprica, and Tigh/Ellen, will I ship Tigh/Caprica? THE ANSWER IS A RESOUNDING YES. It's very far from perfect, but I think this icon shows that, as they stare into the abyss that is their future on Earth v.1.0 (and their future. THEIRS IS A TRAGIC... AFFAIR)

BSG- so in love-
call_me_daisy
"We all begin with good intent; love was raw and young."
This is ship is probably the one I'm most ashamed of, because shipping it is neither fun nor easy, but goddamn, I cannot let go. Check the gaze AHC is giving Gina! The love! Like, I know their relationship goes to hell in the realest sense of that saying, and that they indeed can and do write a bad romance, but at the beginning? IT WAS DARLING.

Farewells can be shattering, but returns are surely worse. Solid flesh can never live up to the bright shadow cast by its absence. Time and distance blur the edges; then suddenly the beloved has arrived, and it’s noon with its merciless light, and every spot and pore and wrinkle and bristle stands clear.
- The Blind Assassin
"Was this a betrayal, or was it an act of courage? Perhaps both. Neither one involves forethought: such things take place in an instant, in an eyeblink. This can only be because they have been rehearsed by us already, over and over, in silence and darkness; in such silence, such darkness, that we are ignorant of them ourselves. Blind but sure-footed, we step forward as if into a remembered dance."
- The Blind Assassin
"If you knew what was going to happen, if you knew everything that was going to happen next -- if you knew in advance the consequences of your own actions -- you'd be doomed. You'd be ruined as God. You'd be a stone. You'd never eat or drink or laugh or get out of bed in the morning.
You'd never dare to."

Guest star? She was there for a whole season being deliciously evil. I loved her.
Leia! And, YES: Search your feelings- you know this to be true.
I love that first icon of your bunch...so pretty.

6. This is my sad Gina icon! Not my prettiest artistically, but I like the image. It's a screencap I made from the deleted scene in LDYB, when Gaius looks back at her one last time as he's leaving. I don't know, I just love her face and her body language - there's a lot of tragedy in this icon but she has this other indescribable look at the same time. And I like that she's naked but it's not really a sexy icon. She's just *there* and so not!Six.

She looks like he's going to eat his face and he is like *GGG* and in spite of all the frakked-upness of their relationship, they still have these moments where they look *so cute* together.
THIS. <3333333 I love them!
I love the sixth icon so, so much for the reasons you chose- her face and the way her hand is curled up by her face, and she looks so... wistful? And it also brings up Reason I Love Tricia Helfer #81264181626, the way you can immediately identify which Six is which just based on their faces. She is brilliant.
