sunshine_queen: Tricia being fierce, as always. (Irina- hopeful- dollsome)

My day has consisted of one lame English class and two class periods spent in the auditorium watching Shaolin Soccer. As in, I saw it twice. As in, I WANTED TO DIE.

There aren't quite words to describe my horror of that particular genre. Mind you, I love stupid-funny movies. I mean, hello, there is pretty much nothing funnier that Zoolander, or Wedding Crashers. But movies like this- a supposed parody of kung fu movies that just... sucked- is like the 40 year old virgin- it's just goes right past funny and into stupid.

So, during the second block I went out to the lobby to hang out, and wound up recommending a bunch of foreign films to Mrs Scott.

At volunteering suddenly all my kids are calling me either Mama or Mami and it's beginning to weird me out. Like, I know it's just their way of saying "Madi" or whatever but it's eerie. I'm eighteen, y'all.

I also feel that there is something enormously pressing that needs to be done. And I really can't think of it. And other than bring in black things to drama (which... I kinda have, seeing as I'm bringing in pants I haven't worn in a year and a sweater of my mother's in so that i can qualify for having black pretty longsleeved thingie in and then replace at some point in the near future, re: before thursday), I got nothing. I know my lines for the play, mostly. I didn't have homework for French. Lord knows if I have stuff for Campi, I wouldn't do it anyway. Point is, I am just being paranoid. Or possibly crazy.

I always feel like I have pressing stuff to do. I have accepted it as a permanent state of being, regardless of if it's actually true.

Aw, Mami! ;-)

The best way a young child has ever referred to me happened when I was babysitting my regular little three-year-old girl. She was all excited about something and grabbing me, and she went "Mommy! Mo-- *realised I wasn't Mom* Um. Um. YOU!" Except she says it like, joo. :D

I get like, impatient "MAMA. MAAAAAAAAMAAAAAAAAAA!"s. And it's weird! And today to Yana I was like, who are you? And she goes "Yana!" and I say, "Who am I?" and she yells "MAMI!" But her mom is "Mama." And the other kids call me "Mama."

Cute, but weird.

Awww... that's so cute. She's probably confused because "Madi" does sound pretty similar to "Mami" and "Mama."

Hmm, was this the English dub? Because the original is actually really funny, and pretty clever. I heard Miramax tried to re-release it for American audiences with a horrible dub and cut out all the good stuff.

No, it was in Chinese with subtitles. Really poor subtitles. It still wasn't funny to me.
