Post, in your journal, a rec list singling out the best of your own fics. Tell people why you are especially proud of those particular fics, and of course provide links to them. Yes, that's right, this step involves self-promotion. How else are people supposed to find your fics? List as many or as few as you feel appropriate to represent your body of writing.

Also include a paragraph about the types of fics you most enjoy reading or are most interested in reading in the immediate future -- favorite tropes, pairings, fandoms, whatever. If you're particularly lazy, link to that Dear Writer post you did for whatever holiday exchange comes to mind.

Reply to other rec posts (like for example the one you are reading now) by reccing a fic of your own that might fit the original poster's tastes, or that you'd just really like them to read, because maybe they don't know they'd like it.

This goes against everything I hold dear, to promote myself, but I'm going to give it a shot!

Types of fic that I like... well, I like anything that makes me feel something strongly, be it happiness or emotional destruction. I love stories about my ships, or the relationships I like- friendships and families. I love fics that fill in the gaps, or explain how things happened, or why things are the way they are. I love lots and lots of details and backstories. And I'm known for my fondness for cracky AUs.

(Now please, everyone, do this meme so I don't feel conceited.)

I have read a few pieces of meta BSG meta, and I love love love to read them. I usually stay away from meta-izing myself, because my thoughts are all over the place and generally end with my flailing my hands around and looking at the other person like, 'You know what I mean?' (This even happens in real life, I am bad at talking about things I love.) Today I started thinking about Sixes and Eights.

( And so, a tiny piece of half-baked meta, because at a certain point I stop talking and start flailing. )

I participated in

bsg_remix this year, and the remix of my fic went up and it is TOTALLY AWESOME AND AMAZING. Seriously, I could not have asked for a more wonderful reworking. It's weird to talk about, because I don't want to be all MWAHAHA EVERYTHING GOOD HAD ITS GENESIS IN ME, but it's like it took all the good parts of what I wrote and made it so different and awesome but still part of what I wrote yet wholly independent and I am just over the moon about it. I have my suspicions about who wrote it, but I won't know for sure for a little while.

I was going to say that the Galacticization of my LJ is now complete, but upon reflection, it's really the Cylonification that is complete. I've got toasters all over my header and now my mood theme is all Six/Gaiused out (<3 <3 <3) and basically if my LJ died it would just wake up in a resurrection tub somewhere. This pleases me immensely.

The first ten people to comment in this post get to request that I write a drabble of any pairing/character of their choosing, in any fandom I am familiar with. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level. (If you absolutely can't write, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to offer drawings or icons or something instead.)

Little things make me happy. Like the graffiti in the tunnel under 13th on the way to Norman Hall... it says things like "Everything's Going to be OK" or "Tomorrow is not the place to place your better days" or just messages in the same font as the Doors used on their CDs.

Chelsea, Ollie, Max and Amanda are currently in Tampa at a Yankee's game... and I couldn't go because I had my Spanish class. And Marisa's quasi boyfriend is here and so far it hasn't been too awkward but I wish they were here so I was hanging out with them. Oh well.

Instead, I created a fic journal!

olvidarling is it, and it has about five fics on it right now, but I'll keep going. I have a lot of things I have no recollection of ever writing.
