Isn't that the truth!
I watched 'A Dark Turn' (SpyRent sex still weirds me out) and 'Truth Takes Time'. Because I miss SpyMommy like whoa.
Mommy got shocked by the dryer. She freaked out and now she and Daddy are out buying a new dryer. Yay for them.
I have to call Heather to find out about tomorrow and then Philly to find out what happened with her and Erik on Wednesday. I'm such a bad friend.
Summers equate, for me, really, people and places and things, it's not a time. I mentioned on Becca's LJ that it makes me think of sunscreen, the pool, lying in the grass and, like her, ice water, but it's more than that. It's Katie and me sharing the little bed at Gramma's house because Mommy and Mel are on the aerobed on the floor because only one bedroom upstairs has air conditioning. It's Amelia and me lying on the grass at the Biltmore golf course on the fourth of July the year before she moved and our wishing that the night would never end. It's my sister and Katie and I competing to see who can wake up earliest to see who gets to have Mare Mare all to themselves in the morning. It's new books and long days of nothing and chlorine and wet tangled hair and bathing suits and eating nutrigrain bars with wet fingers hurriedly between lessons. Fried chicken and homemade spaghetti sauce and the Vanilla Bean and gelatoes and Martha's and Humpty Dumpty's and Doc's ice cream store at the corner of Granger Ave until it closed. It's the Rec across the street from Mare Mare's house, Granger and Caroline Street, and downtown Saratoga, and the track, Saddlewood park and Erin's pool and weeks that seem to stretch into Oblivion but are really so short, so short.

Date: 2004-06-13 11:57 am (UTC)Ooh, I know what you mean. I liked that paragraph. It was all your experiences, obviously, but I could relate to it and now I'm reminiscing. (This sounds like a review on FF.N or something.)
Wow, those cocktails are pretty accurate.

Date: 2004-06-14 05:22 am (UTC)I love your description of summer, because if you change the names of the stores, that's exactly how mine plays out. *sigh* I can't wait until school's over.
