May. 1st, 2006 05:31 pmLast night, at about eleven o'clock, Carol IMed me. She was asking me to wear purple in memory of someone named Allyson Jones.
So I asked her who Allyson Jones was, and Carol was friends with her in middle school and had good friends that were friends with her. She died in a car accident Saturday. She forgot something at home, and tried to make a U-turn, when someone ran the light.
She had turned eighteen four days before, and just returned from Grad Bash that morning.
Today, so many people wore purple- and so many people knew her. So many people were crying or just talking about what a wonderful person she'd been. Tommy grew up with her, and he just took it so hard. He hasn't wanted to be alone since he heard about it- he doesn't want to think about someone as good as she was dying.
And it's so horrifying to think of. She was a young girl, she went to my school. That could've been any of my friends, it could've been any of you, and it just kills me to think about it. And it was awful today, because I wanted to cry just looking at her friends, kids who shouldn't have to be thinking about this now, who should be enjoying the last three weeks of their senior year.
Tommy said that what he felt super bad about was how he didn't even really think about cherishing the time he spent with her, because we all think we're going to live forever.
So, guys? I love you all.

Date: 2006-05-03 11:57 pm (UTC)Our school is notorious for accidents so I know what it's like to feel helpless while people you know lose someone they loved. *hugs* I hope everyone can still manage to somewhat enjoy their last few weeks of high school, despite the loss.
