I wish more than most things (although not more than anything) that I could tell you all the prom was amazingly fantastic and everything I ever wanted and more, but... it wasn't. People keep asking me how prom was and I say "Okay," and I always get "Just 'okay'?!?!" and yep. Just okay. I wouldn't go back and not go, but I wouldn't have been irreparably scarred if I hadn't gone.

Yesterday, in what was Day 2 of The Longest Weekend Ever Of All Time, I woke up at eleven to go to my cousin Janelle's baby's baptism. And Mom and I had to leave early to go to my hair appointment. I had NO IDEA what I wanted for my hair, but I wound up doing it in this simple hairstyle that you can all see when I get sent pictures from peoples' digital cameras. I was done at 3 (and I got a wash, cut, blow-dry and styling for $30. Virginia is so, so, so reasonable and amazing.) and then we went to Dadeland to get fashion tape. They were completely sold out at Rampage and I went to Victoria's Secret on a whim because god knew that if Rampage was out, then so was VS. But no! A saleslady whispered "Follow Me" and sure enough, I got a hidden box of fashion tape.

I did my nails and my mom started on my makeup, and by 6:10 I was completely ready and was being photographed within an inch of my life. After that, I went to Adriana's house, where I was the first one there, and Addy finished getting ready, and then Philly came, and we looked AMAZING together. I was wearing a coral-colored dress, Addy had a turquoise dress, and Philly was wearing yellow, and together our colors were so tropical and fantastic. Addy's boyfriend Pablo was there, and so was Philly's boyfriend Erik, and by the time Janelle got there (in a nice brown dress- she threw off the groove) her date Sergio was there- but my date? MINE? Oh, Tommy was THREE HOURS LATE to prom. So for all the couples pictures? Nothing for me. And no corsage. LIVID.

When we got to prom- after getting a ride with Janelle and her date and racing on the highway (and praying, in my case) we finally got to Parrot Jungle Island, and I met up with Chang and Taylor. I loved seeing everyone so dressed up, and as always, I made lots of new friends. They had a fantastic ceasar salad and the theme was Havana Nights, and that was fun.

I danced, with is usually, and took lots of pictures and everyone looked beautiful and it wasn't a horrible time, just not really my idea of a good time. And it would've been different if, say, Becca or Tata had been there, but they weren't, so I made do. And it was just okay.

I am glad I didn't do afterparties.

Today we woke up and we went to the Titanic Exhibition at the Miami Museum of Science place and it was amazing. They had so many things- big things and little things, from pieces of the ship to playing cards and cufflinks. There was a fascinating presentation at the beginning by this very knowledgable guy, and then entire sections that were reproductions of the first class and third class hallways and bedrooms and it was just so amazingly cool. We all got boarding passes with names and stories about people. Mom, Mel and I were all second-class women, Daddy was A.L. Ryerson, who I knew about due to my Titanic mania when I was a kid. We all lived except for Daddy. Duh.

Then we went to El Novillo for dinner, which was faaaabulous, and Daddy got us in there quickly by saying our last name, because apparently my padrino knows the owner, or something, so we skipped a lot of people and the service was super fast and I bet people hated us a lot.

And now I'm home, and I feel like I should we doing something for school, but I literally have nothing to do because senior year is OVER. Wow.

Three hours late for prom?! I'm quite sure I will be late to my own wedding and even I think that's madness. Sorry it wasn't like omg, the best night of your life but whatever. There will be plenty of opportunities for that in college.

I'm looking forward to pictures. :)

Can't wait to see pics!

I'm really sorry your night wasn't better. See, the thing with my prom, it was lame. Really. But it was a great night because *my* Tata and Becca was there. Haha, you know what I mean? The people in my life who equal your Becca and Tata were there, so, it was great. Nothing really special happened, but it was just like hanging out in formal wear with all my closest friends.

My prom after party was totally dry. Loved it. Fun with cokes and sprites.

Like, prom started at seven, so almost everyone got there like an hour late, but Tommy got there like, at like, ten twenty or something. It was insane. And I am an extremely punctual person. I felt a bit anxious about being late at all.

Yeah, no parties here have ever been without alcohol. Ever. It just varies in quantity.

And you're lucky that your friends were there with you. It would've been so fun with them.

Aw. Maybe 'coz there are more Cubans there. I dunno.

I am really lucky. I do have great friends. I mean, yeah, sometimes they suck. Really suck. But, for the most part, I love every single one of them. Sometimes they do stupid things, like one got drunk Saturday night, but she wasn't driving, so, y'know, whatever. They're stupid and they're lame, but they're *my* stupid and lame peeps. (ha, I totally just said 'peeps'.)

See why I don't want to move away?!
