I don't really know where to begin.



Last night was IB gala. It was such a nice ceremony- the hotel was beautiful, the dinner was nice, we got a nice shirt and our memory books and a certificate thing for completing IB, and it was so NICE when we were all dancing together, because it was us, and... it's never going to be just us again. Well, I take it back- we're all invited back December 21st to go pick up our IB diplomas. And everyone looked so pretty, and we all took pictures and I introduced everyone to Monica and we all danced together... and it was great, but also so sad. And one of the things that hurt the most was the fact that we have all these pictures of just Philly, Addy, Janelle and I... and no Heather. And it just breaks my heart. We did get a picture of the chicks upon my mother's request.

And then graduation was today.

It was nice, it was. And I was okay, up until they sang "Seasons of Love" and then went into "Finale B" from Rent and I bawled... and then we went outside and suddenly Adriana, Philly and Janelle walked out, and they were all crying, and it turned out that Philly of all people had started it, and oh my lord. I didn't cry then, but then I went to hug Chang, and she started crying on my shoulder, and oh my god. I just started bawling. And that's when Nica and my sister and Becca found me.

I know I'm never going to see some of these people again, and I'll see a lot of them at UF, and I'm so torn between being devastated and being okay with it.

After tomorrow, when I receive my diploma after returning my rented white robe... I never have to go back to my school again. Ever. Is it even my school anymore?

It will still be your school. Right now it feels so "final" -- but you can still go back there anytime and it will be essentially the same. Life goes on, people are still there... you'll be fine.

They sang Seasons of Love at my graduation too. I didn't cry much, though. I think the Val and Sal speeches made me cry more.

My Valedictorian's speech was okay, but nothing too horrifically inspiring, and our saluditorian's was a lot better, but not depressing. But when they sang Finale B? Oh man.

Ohhh, I do not do well with graduations. I've already started getting randomly worked up and I keep forgetting I'm not graduating yet.

*hugs* You're gorgeous, m'dear. And it will always be your school. You just have a big, new school now and that's exciting, too.

And thank you, my love. And I'm slowly realizing that it'll be my school the same way my middle and elementary schools were. This just seems so much more final it's easy to get carried away.

And we fell like, 13 places from last year to this one. We were number 13 in the nation last year and this year we were like, 26 or something. But still, yaaay.
