19 Things Most People Don't Know About Me
1. The first time I clearly remember lying was in kindergarten to my teacher. For some reason, I told her my uncle was an astronaut. I didn't specify which (out of the four I have) but I clearly remember picturing my godfather as the uncle in question, floating around in a white spacesuit. Then my mom came and I was terrified Mrs Grant was going to ask her about her spacebound brother-in-law. And I think that was when I learned it's better not to lie cause when you get caught in it it is lame.
2. I care more about the way a role is portrayed than the actual character. Case in point: Liza Minnelli in "Cabaret." Hate the movie. Hate the character of Sally Bowles. Loooooooooove the way Liza acts.
3. I have never seen one of the Godfather films.
4. I am very picky about what I read, but if I love it, I will read it over and over.
5. My confirmation name is Grace, but I wish I'd chosen Anastasia instead.
6. I had plastic surgery last winter, and I really didn't think much of it. Certainly not that I could've actually DIED. Then I saw this news report that this senior in high school died this November while having a routine rhinoplasty to repair damage done to her nose during an accident. And the official reports are that she had an allergic reaction to one of the drugs, but the fact of the matter is: SHE DIED. She was told there was like, no risk or anything, AND SHE DIED. My surgery was much more intense and involved and I don't remember anyone ever mentioning any risk that wasn't directly related to like, effects to the operated area, but wow. That freaked me out.
7. I am scared of all kinds of things, but I don't think anything more than not being able to breathe. Drowning, suffocating, choking are all ways that I would least like to die, thank you very much. The drowning thing is weird, because I'm a pretty good swimmer, but the other day when someone talked about someone dying in a pool because they got sucked into the filter of death at the bottom of the pool, I actually had to encourage myself to breathe properly.
8. I love to fly.
9. I love rollercoasters like nothing else. I love going upside down and fast and falling and I spend the entire ride with a giant smile on my face. So pictures always turn out really good cause I have a brilliant grin.
10. When I finish an entire series of television, I feel accomplished. Unless the series I love more than anything ends and I am left with nothing but sadness.
11. Other than the occasional babysitting job, I have had a job exactly once in my life. It lasted five days, and I was paid to answer phones and type things up. It was my dream job. I got $550, and I read all of my summer assignments while sitting there.
12. I want to be able to speak at least five languages. I speak two and I'm working on my third, and next semester I plan on taking Russian. I figure with five I can safely be called a polyglot and it just seems so cool.
13. I talk to my mom everyday on the phone, usually more than once.
14. When I die, I don't want a memorial or a wake or anything. I want to be cremated and I'll tell... whoever... to do what they want with the ashes. I have gone to many funerals and everytime they just seem like a big damn circus that's awkward and uncomfortable.
15. Likewise, I don't want a big wedding. Unless I win the lottery or marry rich or something, I cannot justify the mass expense of a wedding. Forget hundreds of dollars on flowers a DJ. I just really want the dress. I'll get married at city hall for all I care, as long as I can wear the dress. And then maybe have a brunch or something afterwards. Just nothing that involves dancing. I hate to dance.
16. My toenails are always polished. And will always be polished, if I have anything to say about it.
17. I sunburn very easily. Then I turn a nice shade of gold once my dead, crisped skin has peeled off. It's just lovely.
18. Some people have a thing for shoes, I have a thing for bags. I love bags. It doesn't matter how many I own, I will always want more. Purses and bags and fancy and plain, it absolutely does not matter. If there is a collection of bags somewhere, I will find it and I will salivate. Except for Vera Bradley bags. I HATE those.
19. I hate the beach. I sunburn, I don't like sand, I don't like saltwater, I don't like how sand sticks to you once you get in the water, I don't like bathing suits
