Mom: Why is that bad?
Me: Not Jen!
Mel: He was Annie's dad.
Me: He was Daddy Warbucks.
Mel: Yeah. Annie's dad.
Me: Don't talk to me.
So, Interview One (AE) went like this:
Him: What how do you say your last name?
Me: [proper, NOT AT ALL DIFFICULT, pronunciation]
Him: Cool, cool. Where's that from?
Me: Um, my dad is Cuban. From Spain. *fights down urge to babble*
Him: Cool, cool. And why can't you start til next month?
Me: I have to go to a wedding in New York and I'll be gone, and I didn't want to start and then leave for two weeks.
Him: Oh, that's cool. Well- you're hired, but we schedule a training for when you get back. COME BACK JUNE THIRTEENTH. YOU'RE HIRED.
Me: Okay.
This is after he arrived fifteen minutes late. And then made me wait another ten minutes while he wandered about the store.
Interview Two (Urban Outfitters) went like this:
Guy: How many of you knew this was a group interview?
Everyone: *silence*
Guy: Surprise!
It went okay, though. I should hear back from soon. I don't think I'll go to Bath and Body Works, simply because I don't really want to work there and I already have a job at AE anyway.
When I was at school, my mom and I would watch TV together by text messaging each other and discussing later, or, for Brothers and Sisters, calling during the commercials. But I was DELIGHTED to be here for Sunday's episode. My mom has been a neonatal nurse for about nine hundred years (and by nine hundred I mean aroud thirty.) And basically everything they did was wrong. My mom is usually a lot less intense about her TV watching, but she was just incensed by what was going on.
Mom: Why is that bad?
