So, I am now in Lake Placid and I am absolutely kicking myself for having left my camera cord in Miami because my view from where I'm sitting is phenomenal- Mirror Lake aaaaand the Adirondacks. It's just ridiculously pretty. And I have high-speed internet, so there's that.
So, on our way out of Canada, we finished "Five Days in Paris," so here is the completed list of
Things I Never Expected to Hear Victor Garber Say, But I Now Have, Thanks to the Glory of Danielle Steel
- make love
- breast
- manure
- dairy farm
- snuggle
- ooze
- straightjacket
- son of a bitch (with a great vehemence)
- pert
It was truly the worst book I have ever read (or heard narrated) and the only reason we saw it through was because of Victor. It was absolutely heinous beyond comprehension.
I got a lot of touristy stuff in Québec, namely a cheaper fleur-de-lys pendant than the one I wanted (this one was $12, and the one I wanted was $100+) and a J'♥ Québec, which I thought was super cute. Sadly, I didn't buy anything I wanted in the duty free shop- namely J'Adore perfume by Dior, which I am wearing right now after sampling in Canada, and omg it smells soooo good.
However, I am now reading The Debutante Divorcée by Plum Sykes, and man, do I love a good piece of chick lit when it is accompanied by fashion porn.
