"Not if I see you first, love."
Sep. 8th, 2004 07:26 pm'Blowback' 'Facade' and 'Taken'. All very good, short-titled episodes.
I have various complaints, most of them having to do with the abrupt and complete transformation from Lauren Reed, sweet wife of Vaughn and NSC liasion to Lauren Reed, Cheap and Evil Girl.
Blowback amuses me for the sole reason that when we flip to Lauren's POV, half of what Vaughn says doesn't even register. Like Regina said in the recap, it's like, what, Lauren didn't hear it? Vaughn didn't say it to her? WhatEVER.
Facade is cute because of the final scene. I love that final scene very, very much.
And Taken is cute because it's all Dixon, all the time. Papa Reed came. HATE Papa Reed. He teased Renny and cut her self-worth down to size. Poor Renny Reed. I can't wait for Mama Reed to come. Hee.
And the Sarkney moment! Oh, the squeeyness. He SO digs her.
And then, the frosting on the cake: "Not if I see you first, love."
And the light dawns on SpyDaddy.
Oh. Squee.

Date: 2004-09-08 08:28 pm (UTC)YES. I concur. I mean, that was so utterly . . . you can tell they just chose to do it mid-season; that scene in the car with Sark especially annoys me. Because at that point in time, she's not evil, man. You can just tell. Oh, silly writers. Foolish JJ.
Is it weird that now I kind of wish they hadn't done the Cheap and Evil Lauren thing? I so wanted her to just keel over dead whilst watching the season on TV, but they could have dealed with that whole storyline a lot more interestingly than just making her . . . randomly evil. And then KILLING HER. < / bitter>
Except for the part where she's maybe not dead. Depending upon whether Melissa George can fit more Alias into her schedule.
Oh, what a world.
And wow, that was kind of rambly, wasn't it? :) Y'know, just a little.
