This is my second time doing this, since my first attempt was killed right before I got to Gilmore Girls in a power surge. Arg.

La chère [livejournal.com profile] charmingnotion challenged me with this!

Reply to this post by yelling "Words!" (or, I would suspect, typing...) and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them to your lj and explain what they mean to you.

Leemo (slash, all facets of the WONDROUS LEE ADAMA): So. When I started watching BSG, my feelings towards Lee was basically, "Damn, it's a good thing Leland Joseph is a handsome devil, cause with his attitude towards his father I kind of want him to die in a fire." And seriously, I did. He was a pissy bitch Queen. But then I realized I should do to him what I do to everything now: Growing Up Cullen-ize him. When you start treating Lee like a bitchy queen, everything gets ten times funnier. And when you treat Lee like a bitchy queen, and he acts like a bitchy queen, it's genius. For instance, take the New Capriasco and the men in uniform. Papadama, in charge of the entire fleet and leaving his lady love behind: grows a pornstache of agony. Tigh, runs a rebellion: loses a frakking eye. Helo, planning and shit: gets a promotion. Lee, gets a promotion, gets his own battlestar: gains thirty pounds of angst. He literally ate his feelings.

(In truth, though, I do love Lee. I think he's super, super fun. His angst with Kara is unnecessary, but I love it when they're BFFs. And I love it when he's nice to his papa. And he is pretty much always Team Lauroslin, which is great. Except for when he decides to wear his lawyer pants and be a loser. OH NOW LEEMOSAUR, HURTING YOUR STEPMOTHER. COME ON. He also is a bit annoying when it comes to adhering to the rules and what is 'right,' but a lot of people have that problem. Especially Adamas.

BUT THEN AT THE END HE DECIDED TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYONE LOST ALL ACCESS TO MODERN TECHNOLOGY BECAUSE HE WANTED TO PLAY GALACTICA TRAIL. WELL FRAK YOU, LEE, GO FORGE A RIVER AND DIE OF SNAKE BITE OR SOMETHING. YOU'LL WISH YOU HAD THE ANTIVENOM THEN, YOU FRAKKER.)

Alias: Alias is my favorite show ever. EVER. If I could major in a fandom in university, this is what I would pick. Not only would I graduate with super highest honors, but I would have the best time ever while doing it. Even what I hate I love. While some of the plotlines were ridiculous, when it was good it was so good. I have never cared so much about characters and situations. My favorite characters ever in the world are from here- Jack Bristow, who is the biggest BAMF this world has ever known, and who is also incredibly loving in his own emotionally stunted and adorable way; Nadia Santos, who has every reason to be a miserable, spiteful, nasty person and instead is all light and joy and sweetness. And Sydney Anne! Even though she is sometimes Leemoish in her lameness, she means so well and is so pleasant and dear other times. And HBIC Irina Derevko! Batshit Sloane! MICHAEL VAUGHN. My love for this show is so vast I can't even explain it. And it has my OTPiest OTP, Syd and Vaughn. Yes, they have their ups and downs, and yes, occasionally I want to knock their heads together, but omg, do I love them. Sooooooulmates!

Roslin/Adama: Definitely in second place for my personal OTPs, however, a much better and mature couple. Like, in the affectionlympics, Bill/Laura would totally own Syd/Vaughn. Their relationship is so complex and perfect and deep and true and loving and respectful and nurturing and pleasant! They're very rarely jerks to one another, which is so refreshing. They share books, for God's sake, and they actually get along and like each other. And they complement one another perfectly. And my goofy take on the matter is that the freckles in their eyes are mirror images and when they kiss they're perfectly aligned, THAT'S HOW SOULMATEY THEY ARE. And they are so in love. Hot damn, are they in love. Like, not just loving each other, actively in love. And it's awesome.

thanks, [livejournal.com profile] thepodsquad!

The Sound of Music: In my preschool, when we arrived in the mornings we got in a circle and sang songs. Most kids sang easy things, like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I sang "Edelweiss." TSOM was my first favorite movie, and I totally stand by my decision. It has Nazis and nuns and a multitude of children and Austria and the eve of WWII and songs and IT IS SO FANTASTIC I CAN HARDLY STAND IT. My interest in the von Trapps runs deep- I've read the books by Maria von Trapp and went to the von Trapp family lodge in Stowe, Vermont in 2006. It was awesome. Also, Captain von Trapp was my first second crush and goddamn, was I right about that too. (Edelweiss is still one of my favorite songs.)

Gilmore Girls: I started watching this show in the summer of 2006, and however many times the show has rotated through on ABC Family is how many times I've watched it. I watch it almost every single day, and I absolutely adore it. (I also clearly have nothing better to do,but don't let my lack of a life turn you against this awesome show.) I love the Gilmore family, in this order: Papa Gilmore, Emily, Lorelai Rory. I also love Luke and Paris and Lane and Sookie and Jackson and Babette and Miss Patty and the city of Stars Hollow and the quirkiness of the show and the pop culture jokes and everything except for when Rory dates Jess, Luke's annoying sister and her even more annoying husband, and Luke's annoying daughter, whose mother was the goddamn bane of my existance. I think this show is brilliant and it ties with BSG for second favorite show, easy.

WORDS!!!

Hahaha, I love your approach to Lee, it's genius! When they showed him all angstily chubby I almost died of delight. Maybe that's petty. Or maybe it's awesome.

I have this new practice of sort of fearfully skimming everything you write about BSG in fear of spoilers. So far, it's mostly served me well.

GILMORES, GILMORES, YAY! The last episode I caught part of was the one where Lor and Christopher went romantic vacationing in France, and I enjoyed it wholeheartedly. And it was Lorelai and Christopher, EW DIE GROSS, having a romantic vacation in France! That's how you know your showly true love is true.

Bromances, Dollhouse, The Office, epic romances between victorian writers, Marshall/Lily.

I try hard not to spoily where you might see, but here it was difficult! Especially with the New Capriasco.

GILMORES. I hate the final season so much it burns but I usually leave it on at least in the background. I love those wacky Gilmores.

IA so much with all of this. But, okay.

Leemo. My precious, precious, Leemo. The haters are illogical, yes? Because, okay. He's a whiny ass bitch who needs to get his act together and get over parental angst. But that is all the more reason to love him. HIS ANGST IS CAUSE FOR 30 MORE POUNDS OF LEEMO. If that isn't something to find hilarity in, then you have no sense of humor. LEE LOVE IS THE BEST LOVE.

Sigh, Roslin & Adama are the perfect love. Pretty sure they are my only true legitimate in-love ship. All of my other ships are angst ridden and crazy and half have never even happened. So their epic love is refreshing. And, like you said, pleasant. That's such a good word for them. The respect they have for each other is fantastic. GUH, THEM.

Just an fyi: if we had gone to pre school together, we would have been best friends. Because when I was a kid, I watched that movie every day for 3 straight months. And it is SUCH a great movie that I cannot resist watching. Like, if I catch it on TV, I sit my ass down and watch the whole thing. I have to. I AM GLAD WE CAN SHARE THIS LOVE.

Gilmore Girls! Nyawh, I heart Pappa Gilmore and Emily. People should recognize their ferocity. I sort of obsessively shipped Jess/Rory when I was, like, in 8th grade or something. Haha. So I can't help but like them. Or the idea of them, at least, because it never went well in execution. In any case, this show is brilliant. And even though it got weird in the last few seasons, I still totally cherish it. ♥

The haters are totally illogical, as he is the best EVER. AND HIS THIRTY EXTRA POUNDS OF ANGST IS LIKE THE GREATEST THING EVER TO HAPPEN. OH MY LEEMOSAUR. ♥♥♥

Lauroslin and Bill are the greatest couple ever. The only couple more epic than them are the Tighs, and that's only because of the two thousand years part. YOU CAN'T TOP THAT. I think I'm mostly enchanted by the idea that they actually like each other, since so many couples on TV seem to really not feel all that kindly towards one another.

I'm the same way about TSOM! If it is on, I am watching, and I am loving.

Shoot, the Gilmores are the fiercest couple on that show. Except for that stupid bizarre rough patch, they are mostly adorable. You know in the first season, when Papa Gilmore has a heart attack, and Emily is fussing cause she's nervous, and Papa Gilmore is like, no seriously, I need to tell you some things in case anything happens... and she's like, No, we are not talking about you dying, because I refuse to have you die on me- in fact, I demand to go first, and Papa Gilmore says, with all the love in the world, that she can go first? GAH MY HEART. (Also, we should probably agree here and now not to discuss Jess ever. I would say I hate him more than anyone on that show, but the final season proved that to be false.)
