I am literally getting through this "omg what are souls made of you guys!!!" nonsense by putting it into a BSG context. Namely: Cylons. The best example being, "look, you can't say that (the) God(s) can't put a soul in matter, BECAUSE (T)HE(Y) IS (ARE) GOD(S), and therefore can do anything, duh."

Any little bit helps, man. I'm not even halfway done.

But who is to say that humans (or, like, what BSG would consider humans) have a soul? The idea of a soul was invented purely by humans looking for answers to questions we are never going to get answers for. Therefore, who is to say there really is any difference between human and cylon, aside from how they are made? Just...saying?

Oh, that was in there too, how the immortal soul is a religious construct generally deemed necessary to society, and how can we know what God means to do/wants to do/does with our puny intellect. Thinking about it in a BSG capacity made it lest heinous. Oh Voltaire.
