Over on ivanolix's LJ she's having people vote for who they think is most attactive. Somehow Tricia is losing. I don't even know how that is possible, BUT THIS MEANS I MUST TRY TO SALVAGE THINGS.





Also, Katee is doing quite well but I figured I'd campaign for her too. I love my BSG girls, because they're so pretty.

Thank god you posted that link! I just voted to save these two. Tabitha or whatever is beautiful, but these two women kick her ass in personality (which totally impacts attractiveness, even the physical kind).

PS, those are some crazy fierce pictures, especially of Katee. The bottom middle one of Tricia is kind of weird, though-- is she really young there?

PPS, how much do you love that, out of 3 choices, like 2% of people voted for Trucco? No one can deny his prettiness.

I'm sure that girl is just lovely, but since I don't know her from Eve, I'm inclined to believe that she is neither as beautiful nor as delightful as Tricia or Katee.

FIERCENESS IS THEIR MIDDLE NAMES, CLEARLY. And I don't think that photo is particularly recent, but it's not old either. I had such a hard time picking pictures of her- she was suffering from an embarrassment of riches. Katee was a lot easier- she didn't have as many photo shoots to choose from, and I love love loved the ones I found. The only shoot of hers that I hate is the one where she's in bed with the cigar, I find it kind of unnecessarily tawdry.

MICHAEL TRUCCO IS THE HANDSOME GUY ON THE PLANET, LET ALONE THAT POLL. I love Tahmoh something awful, but he's no where near as cute as Trucco. And Sean Maher doesn't do it for me at all, I think Lee Pace is much cuter.

True fact. I wonder if it ever depresses him, that he's so much better looking than 95% of his fellow humans? (not fellow cylons though, lol!) Anyway, he was a shoo-in from day 1 to win that poll.

But ZOMG I just remembered-- Tricia lost! I'm so sorry!! :-( We tried so hard for her sake. Honestly, I was always going to vote for Katee out of loyalty, but Tricia was obviously the most gorgeous gal on the list. Folks who voted for Tabrett are delusional!

I think life must be kind of a bummer for the top 5% of the population in attractiveness. Almost everyone is less beautiful. Poor them.

I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW THAT GIRL WITH A FAKE NAME COULD WIN. IT'S JUST ABSURD. And now I'm just going to hate her forever which isn't strictly fair, but whatever. TRICIA CANNOT BE TOPPED IN A BEAUTY COMPETITION.

LOL, it'll be hard, but I'll try! Battlestar Galactica has been called by Joel McHale "the Bible of Television," so it's really hard to boil down.

When it comes right down to it, BSG is a story about survival. I'd say 'survival of humanity,' but that makes it sound like it's only about humans, which it's not. The story starts with the Cylons attacking the Twelve Colonies, which is populated by humans. The Cylons were created by man and were given artificial intelligence, which evolved and made the poor Cylons really unhappy when they realized they were enslaved. Forty years after the end of their battle for independence, the Cylons returned and destroyed the Colonies, leaving only around fifty thousand humans alive left in space- a handful of civilian ships all protected by the military battlestar Galactica. They now have to try to find another home, figure out how to survive in the deep recesses of space, and, at least in the beginning, keep ahead of the Cylons. (This changes!)

It's really the best-written show I've ever watched. The storylines are brilliant, because even when you've firmly picked a side, you feel like a jerk, because the writing demonstrates both sides of nearly every argument. Most of the characters are amazing and deep (and unusually attractive) and the dialogue is perfect and iiiiii love it.

(I've got like, two (http://sunshine-queen.livejournal.com/502246.html#cutid1) other (http://sunshine-queen.livejournal.com/452871.html#cutid1) posts extolling it. The second one is no longer a strictly accurate ranking of my loves- it was done immediately after watching it the first time around- but it's still fun.)

I don't really know how much you want- characters? Detailed plots? Gratuitous pictures of handsome/gorgeous cast members? I WILL DO ANYTHING TO ENTICE YOU.

It sounds brilliant! You've won me over by saying that it's well written, especially in terms of seeing both sides. Now I feel I have to see it. I don't know when I'll get round to watching it (how many seasons did it have?) but it's most definitely on my to-watch list now. Thank you for taking the time to explain the gist of it! :) I liked the second post you linked to especially - pretty boy is very pretty and a love story? That sounds wonderful.

YESSSSSS. :-D :-D :-D There are actually a plethora of love stories to choose from.

It has a three-hour miniseries, a... twelve episode first season, 20-odd episode second season (divided into 2.0 and 2.5, just... roll with it,) 20-odd third season, and twenty-odd fourth season (divided into 4.0 and 4.5.) It is wonderful from start to finish!!!

Katee Sackhoff looks pretty in those pictures, so it depresses me that they've really made her dowdy on 24. :( She's the Renny of 24 this season, though I don't really watch. I had to laugh, though, because from what I have seen, Freddie Prinze Jr.'s character reminds me of Vaughn, and there was also a character named Renee this season!

Some of those pictures of Tricia, she looks like totally different people! Very pretty, though. :)

I noticed that when I saw pictures of Katee on the show! To be fair, though, she usually photographs a thouuuusand times prettier than she is on TV. Like, watching BSG you would hardly believe she's the same girl, because she's so damn hardcore.

That was a rush job on Tricia, I would've chosen a wider variety of photos if I'd had more time. She's 100% gorgeous always, though.

Eep! I couldn't disagree more! I think Katee is so much more gorgeous when her face is in motion.

Maybe it's not simple prettiness, though, but that engaging energy that comes across when she is on film.

I think Katee is a delightful actress, but what I meant was that she picks roles that aren't particularly glamorous, so when she gets to a photoshoot where her only job is to be dolled up and pretty, she really rocks it.
