No that's a big problem. Clutter makes people crazy and has been linked to depression, and that's when it's your own and you have control over it. When It's not your own and it's in your space, that is something to complain mightily about. I suggest going for forgiveness rather than permission. I'm sure there is stuff buried that your Mom doesn't remember is there unless you hold it up and say, hey, can I get rid of this?
