First, I will start off the fact that I got a new phone, finally, and for real.

I went to T-Mobile yesterday with Daddy and Ma, and they got themselves and Mel new little blue samsungs and I got a beautiful camera flip phone that I just love so very much. And then I got "God put a smile upon your face" and "hello, i love you" for ringtones. The downside is that I lost my Alias wallpaper, my Alias ringtone, and a dozen numbers in my old phone. Forsooth.

Secondly, I love voting in icon catergories. They make me happy.

Thirdly, It was an Alias extravanganza on TV this morning. "Wet Hot American Summer" was on TV with Coop, and it's absolutely hysterical, and then my Dad found "Rose Hill" on TV and so we flipped between the two for an hour. Jen in Rose Hill is just too cute, but sadly lacking her SpyDaddy. Coop is just hysterical as a rich gay man in YELLOW LACOSTE SHIRTS. All my TV men wear my shirts! Coop and Duchovny and Vartan...

And now, for TMI.

A couple weeks ago, I got a splinter in my foot on my Mom's floor. We figure it was something Sugar tracked in, and it hurt like a bitch, so I soaked my foot. When I took it out, my foot didn't hurt anymore, so we figured it was out.

Boy, were we wrong. It kept hurting, and by that point the idea of doing home-surgery on my foot was horrifying, so my Mom just told me to let it come out of its own accord.

And at this point, I don't think it ever will. It hurts, there's a little lump on my foot from it, and I am afraid that I'm going to lose my foot to gangrene or something BECAUSE OF A STUPID PIECE OF WOOD.

Gah.

Hee. Yay for men in Lacoste shirts!

Dude, the splinter thing happened to me, too. I got this weird thing stuck in my thumb right before sophomore year. I cannot explain to you how GROSS whatever it was really was... it looked like a piece of rice, if rice were gray. Anyway, now and then I'd be able to pick out pieces of it, but my thumb also bled like crazy--it seemed like whatever was there was like, a PART of my thumb. Sometimes I would let the skin grow over whatever it was, but it was sticking out, still, so I could feel it/notice it. Finally, after TWO AND A HALF YEARS, I finally pulled whatever it was out. You can still tell where the thing was; I have a teeny tiny scar, and the skin around that area is sensitive and never fully fixed itself.

So, yeah. You'll be fine. It'll come out. Soak it in hot water again, then go at it with the tweezers. Your body's inclination is to push it out, so one day--maybe two and half years later--it WILL come out. :P

Oh, jeez, and it's worse on your hand then in your foot.

Although I feel better now that you said that.

If you get a chance, it might be a good idea to get that foot checked out by your doctor--my sister did something similar a few months ago and she developed a severe local infection from the splinter. It wouldn't hurt to catch it a little earlier than she did. Hope you feel better soon. :)
