Shakiraaaaaaaaaa!

I unfortunately woke up at 10:30, after six and a half hours of sleep. My legs feel like I'm walking on glass stumps and ache, I'm exhausted, and? The cold that Sebs gave to Elisse and Elisse gave to Julie, Julie gave to me, and now I'm stuffy. At least my throat doesn't hurt like Pazos' and Tay Tay's.

Now would probably be a good time to recap the VMAs.

Honestly, I had a good time, but the day was so long, and getting OUT took forever, and I was surprised at my friends and their lack of caring for me, ever, but that's okay.

Most of the performances took place far away, and I managed to completely space out during all of the rap performances. I had already seen most of the performances before. Some several times (Kelly Clarkson, I am looking at you.)

- Hilary Duff is a nasty little girl. I didn't care, but some of my friends waved and she didn't wave back, and she was snotty and rude and SHE LOOKS LIKE A HORSE.
- Conversely, Lindsay Lohan was sweet while she was presenting.
- Paulina Rubio was like, either hung over, drunk, or high during the rehearsal, but she is beautiful and was still a bit whatever at the show.
- Jessica Alba is stunning.
- Johnny Knoxville is GORGEOUS.
- Listening to My Chemical Romance and Coldplay in Concert was AMAZING.
- Getting wet in Kelly Clarkson's performance, while fun, was a stupid idea. I was completely drenched. For a while, Chang and I were caught in the axis and were just getting SO wet and I couldn't get dry until I got home at TWO THIRTY A.M.
- Paris Hilton is prettier than I realized in person.
- So! Is! Fergie! I love Fergie!

And now for the Shakira report for Jess.

Shakira turned out to be my FAVORITE PERSON THERE.

For one thing, I adore La Tortura. It's gorgeous. I love Shakira. She's gorgeous.

Anyway, at one point during rehearsal, I went to the bathroom with Adriana. We were waiting to get taken back to our section, and Galvez had been taken to the wrong section, so she was coming back with us.

So, we're walking, and there's this crowd. I figure, "Hey, I bet there's someone famous in there," so I started scanning it.

And then I realized that the cute little petite girl in a white wifebeater was OMG SHAKIRAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I was literally speechless. I floundered out for Addy, who was too far ahead for me to reach, and then I reached back to grab Galvez. Neither of us could speak, but Shakira TOTALLY SAW US and smiled and then we kept going and about two minutes later, we managed to croak out, "Oh my god, Shakira." Galvez cried.

I had to move out of my approved area to see Shakira's performance, but it was amazing. I'd venture to say that her performance was the greatest success and the most fun.

Finally, she came and sat down where she was supposed to- by me. She is absolutely gorgeous. Like, I never really realized it- I knew she was very pretty- but she is astonishingly pretty. She was wearing a green dress over jeans and black heels, Jess, and she looked so effortlessly beautiful. She was chatting a lot with someone next to her, and then we saw her and got her attention.

She smiled and waved.

Then Galvez comes over. "Galvez!" I shout, "Shakira is there! We have to get closer!" So we did. And Galvez teared up again. Shakira smiled and waved at Galvez, and then turned AND DID THE SAME TO ME. Her smile is amazing.

I swear, I got all teary myself and giddy and fangirly.

Then she left and I was so sad 'cause she was my favorite.

OH MY GOD. Dude, I'm squealing away and my door is open and I'm being really loud and you're SO GODDAMNED LUCKY. You saw SHAKIRA. And she WAVED at you. THREE TIMES. *keels over and DIES*

I hate you, I hate you so much. But I love you for writing it all out for me.

And yes, she is truly beautiful... even when I saw her in concert, she looked so pretty. (I was fairly close but not, like, front row.) I want to look like her. And she's tiny, too.

And, guess what? I freaking missed her performance. I watched the whole damn show (and sadly I didn't see you, but I was looking) but my mother decided to call five minutes before Shakira came home, and she kept me on the phone for half an hour trying to burn a CD. *pout* But I'll be able to download it, I think.

You went to the VMAs? Whoa... lucky you! I'm most jealous of the Coldplay and My Chemical Romance viewing. I'd give an arm and a leg to see either one of them in concert.

Hehe, yeah I noticed you were a little excited about seeing her. Shakira is gorgeous, but I only so-so like her music. My grandma adores her though! She and my cousin sort of have their own We-Love-Shakira fan club, fangirls in their own rights.

I have listened to them all. And today, "Underneath your clothes" came on the radio and I spazzed out. My dad was like, okay, calm down.

I really love Ojos Asi. Intensely. And I'm still all about La Tortura and the songs I know... and I've only heard most of the other 29 songs you sent me once, so I don't really have favorites yet. I'll let you know. ;-)
