Sydney is sick of betrayal so she goes to the one man who has yet to hurt her for help, Sark.
... Riiiiiiiight.
MY MOMMY IS HOME! Oh, it's awesome. We went to the airport last night after buying her flowers
(We went to our CVS, which was closed, 'cause the new one is 24-hours and now ours closes, which sucks, so we drove down to the new one. We're looking at the roses for sale there, and this big black young man comes over. "Excuse me," he says, "What kind of flowers do you buy for the first date?"
He's holding a bouquet of pink roses. "I think those are good," I say.
"But these are dead looking," and lo, upon closer inspection, they are.
"Go with pink," I say, and motion to the light pink with darker tips roses that we had been looking for.
"Are you sure you don't want them? You were looking at them..."
We told him to take them, and we chose some white roses, and we all went up to pay, and my dad loudly voiced his approval, to which the young man replied, "Thank you, sir. I thought it would be nice to be old-fashioned."
See Mel and I melt.)
and driving forever to the airport. Once there it took a million years to park, and we still got there an hour early.
I wound up reading the weekend section ("Viernes!") in spanish. That was both educational and amusing.
Papa got me a pastelito because there are about ten hundred cuban restaurants/mini-restaurants in the airport, and gooooom. I haven't had real pastelitos in forever. So, I munched away happily, and then MOMMY CAME!
Oh, it was so exciting.
We waited forever and a day for her luggage, and then finally, after we switched carousels, it was the last luggage to come off or so, and then we went home. My dad felt the need to drive EXCRUCIATINGLY FAST! the whole way. None of us said anything until he started speeding merrily through our neighborhood, and I finally said, "Um, can we calm down, please?" and everyone commented on how scary daddy's driving can be. He taught himself, you know, at fourteen.
Then we came home, and mom had brought home some presents for me and my sister!
I got new underwear! (YEEEEESSSS!)
I got a giraffe pen that FIGHTS. (It PUNCHES, dude, I swear. It's awesome. She got my sister a fighting kangaroo)
The Shakira CD my cousin promised me this summer and forgot to give me (Laundry Service.)
And this stuffed TY giraffe that turned out to be a horse. I swear, it looks JUST like a giraffe. And I will proceed to call it a giraffe.
But Mommy is home! And she talked to the Rusches about going to Europe with us, and she convinced them, and Larry is already planning it! I'm so excited.
And then I slept until 2:13. Oh, Saturdays.

Date: 2005-09-10 03:33 pm (UTC)And what are pastelitos? Do tell, do tell.
When she moved, my friend gave me a stuffed animal that she insists is an anteater. I'm pretty sure it is an elephant. I mean, who makes an anteater toy? Also, Nita once sent me the most random animal ever. I can't even begin to guess what it is. (Nita, if you see this, what the heck is that thing?! I forgot what you guessed in your letter.)
