So, today seems to be the random day of Madi getting showtunes stuck in her head.

For example: coming home from volunteering, I started humming/singing (such as it is) the dance scene from 'West Side Story.' Which is basically comprised of a lot of humming and an occasional "MAMBO!" Gotta love WSS.

Then, just recently, I started with bizarre selections from 'Jesus Christ Superstar.' I think my flippant view on religion is in part because of my early exposure to that movie. Songs like "King Herod's Song (Try it and See)" just do bad things to a kid's mind. Not to mention the fact that I can sing like, the entire musical, including all the lines that have choice lines such as, "Someone Christ, King of the Jews."

(Which is a really awesome line, when you think about it. Someone Christ? Dude.)

Anyway. Today I got my class ring back from being resized (RAPTURE AND EXUBERANCE!) and my senior pictures! They came out so amazing, except for the really scary giant picture that turned out to be about ten times bigger than we expected- 11 x 14 is big, who knew? Doesn't sound it- and I can't wait to give the pics away.

(Aw, man. Now it's 'Turn back, o man' from Godspell. Marvels never cease.)

I have four more entries to do for TOK, and they're supposed to be like, thought-provoking entries of brilliance that I don't possess. My first entry was based on a JANIS JOPLIN LYRIC. And from there I went into a George Carlin stand-up skit, which lead into the victims of Katrina! No, I don't know how I did it either.

I think I might actually sit down and tell the saga of my (ouvrent les guillemets) friends (ferment les guillemets), but let me just say that today, Philly didn't talk to me all during french until she wanted me to sign the paper to get her nominated for Homecoming Queen.

I have had random showtunes stuck in my head all day!!

Well, this morning, I had "Copacabana" stuck in my head. Yes, I realize that is not a showtune, but stay with me. Then, out of nowhere (although I do blame Nita for this) "Edelweiss" was playing over and over and over again. And then, dude, "All That Jazz" from Chicago somehow found its way with me. Then, "Why Can't the English" from My Fair Lady was there (but I brought that one on when I commented on some random kid's lingo by saying, "why can't the english teach their children how to speak? This verbal class distinction by now must be antique!") And then, "The Circle of Life" was on my Josephine and it was sooo funny! I was driving in my car, alone, screaming the beginning sounds or whatever they are off the top of my lungs. I bet I must've looked funny to an outside viewer ;)

Nita has everyone singing Sound of Music songs. Luckily, I have never seen that movie so she can't get me! Ha! I have foiled her once again.

Yaaay, I want all the sordid details about "ferment les guillemets", whatever that means. I probably used it wrong.

LOL, ferment les guillemets means "close quotation marks" because the french use << instead of " and they're called guillemets. So I said "friends."
