Indoctrination
Jun. 27th, 2004 12:42 pmBecca came over and we watched hours upon hours of Alias- from 1.8, Time will Tell through 1.16, The Prophecy. Her indoctrination is going swimmingly, and now I've got Abby and her dad in on the action too.
Friday night we went to Cocowalk to see Fahrenheit 9-11 but it was sold out, so we had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory with Elizabeth and we shopped around a bit afterwards. We found Abby and ditched Fiji and friends and went to Starbucks for coffee and tea before driving back to Becca's. We picked up her stuff and her dad drove us back to my place, where we watched Alias until 1:30 or and we were both falling asleep.
Chatted a bit and then went to sleep at two. Becca got up at, like, 9:30, which is early as eff for a Saturday morning and we watched- and I kid you not- more Alias. We made it to the beginning of 1.17, Q & A and then her Daddy came and got her.
doodled around the house all day and did nothing too great and then Becca IMs me and invites me to go see Fahrenheit 9-11 with her family. I agree, and we went.
The movie will make you laugh, cry, and think. And boy, do I hate thinking about those sorts of things. It really got me to thinking, but in that bizarre, half-baked way that I have when it comes to politics and what's right and what's wrong and loyalty and subversity. I felt like people were watching me as I left the theatre and that I was going to be followed now because I had gone to see a subversive film. I no longer dislike Michael Moore, I think he's cool. I just- bah. But really, go see it. It was good. It needed to be made, I think.
