7:26- I'm actually really bitter that Alias is on at eight, friends. I keep spacing that it is, and expecting to have another hour before it starts. I set up my tape, and I'm kind of prepared. Mind you, I have to pack completely. But whatever.

I even have cleared off my space on the coffee table where I sit. Aliiiiiiiiiias.

Heh, Nica just called and asked me if I was packed. She knows me so well.

I am totally PMSing. That means I am going to be all weepy. And I'll probably cry at Alias.

... OH MY GOD 14 MINUTES!

I already saw the promo clipper thing that shows Syd de-cuteified with the evil police officers and EMTs who AREN'T, just like in Secuestro Express, JUST LIKE BECCA AND I WERE AFRAID OF, and Syd is all... well, not as cute. They had to change her sweater to accomodate her boobs! And then she like, ran off run in a cornfield! It was SO XF. I was all, "Mulder?" "SCULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY!"

(10 minutes. Lord almighty.)

Oh. I'm nervous. And excited. And spoiler free.

Oh, powers that be, please let Alias not suck, please let Alias not suck. Please please please.

No. I am going to be optimistic. Dammit.

And now, consider this the beginning:

 

So, yeah, running through a field, evil EMTs, Syd escaped. Was she wearing like, a state pendant around her neck? Whatever. Belly very much in evidence.

She goes home, and checked out by random oriental doctor, who says she's okay. New black guy comes in investigating. They never make it to Santa Barbara. Syd, thank god, does not squeal on Vaughn. Before the black guy gets really mean (and as I was screaming for him,) Daddy came in and sent him out. He's all, we need to come up for a cover story 'cause Vaughn might be a double, blah blah Irina fishcakes. Daddy doesn't want Syd going to jail like he did.

Vaughn goes to some place. A guy comes in and is all, oh, i've always wanted to meet you, Mr. [Not Vaughn]. Michaux, is it?

And there was no Alias dance. ARG. This is a bad start.

 

Okay. That black guy? I HATE HIM WITH A FIERY PASSION.

Um, they blackmailed Vaughn with the mexican hat dance and Syd's ring finger, just like Emily, and Vaughn flipped, but then he became action Vaughn and escaped and called Syd, asking for his Daddy's watch. Oh, Tess. I HATE it when you're right.

The BG was mean to Marshall. He should die.

Why is no one even mentioning Nadia? WHERE IS SLOANE?

Dixon brought up not trusting Syd in season one and how she should trust Vaughn. Yay, thanks for that, writers.

Anyway, it looks at first like Syd betrayed him by sending the black guy and team to Mexico City and where Vaughn was, but we soon learn that BG had been Bristow'd and Syd's with Vaughn and pissed and demanding the truth. Vaughn's real name is André Michaux. I think.

They're in Italy. I think. I'm not sure. All I know is they were walking and holding hands.

 

- marshall encrypted vaughn's files and gives them to daddy
- BG sucks
- Vaughn and Syd talk about Renée Rienne and go to talk to the Leeman guy and find out that vaughn's dad changed their names because of everyone who worked on a rambaldi project died, etc. Leeman wants a book
- syd and vaughn mission as this adorable french couple and then they DANCE! and vaughn's been practicing with weiss for their wedding
- mari!
-dixon helps
- doctor, syd's pregnant, tells vaughn, they jump off cliff

 

I.. I don't believe that they killed Vaughn in the first episode. I don't. Although I knew that train was bad.

Um. I have nothing else to say.

 

So, then he was alive, and they chose Isabelle, and- and then they killed him.

BG was not a good guy. Duh.

I don't think I'm going to watch this show anymore.

And... and they did his funeral. And it's like- they showed the preview, and I have just... no desire to watch tonight. I don't even want to go and like, flesh out this recap, I don't want to watch next week, I don't want to watch ever. And... maybe I'll feel differently tomorrow, or next week, but I don't know.

And I never thought anything could turn me away.

... I think so much of it is that I feel completely betrayed. As a fan, as a viewer, as anyone who's invested anytime in Alias at all. Yes, his last words were "I love you," and he named his daughter, and... anything else could've happened. Just a few more episodes.

Honestly, I am so confused right now. It doesn't seem to make any sense to push Vartan from the show ... I can understand somewhat "killing" Vaughn if JJ has something up his sleeve, another one of those not-actually-dead-the-mystery-thickens moves. It'd almost be interesting that Syd would have to spend a few episodes uncovering Vaughn's past, and not be able to hear from him directly about his invovlement with the side project. But. I don't know.

I'm so confused and my head hurts.

I thought it was quite good. I liked Syd/Vaughn for the first time ever. I loved the scene in the car.

And they played "Once Upon a Dream!" Did you catch that?

My most pressing dilemma is whether I think SpyDaddy looked hotter in the leather jacket or the funeral suit.

Awww, poor Madi. *many hugs* I cannot even imagine what it would be like going into this unspoiled.

But methinks things are eventually going to turn out okay. Somehow.
