I got my new prescription which I means I will soon have new glasses! Yaaaay!

And other than that, nothing really happened today. Except for in history, where we got to give ourselves Russian names and pretend we were in a Politburo. And with my bizarre knowledge of Russian names (*whistles innocently*) I wound up naming everyone. Which was fun.

HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY, NITA!

What is your Russian name?

Magdalena Z____ova, because the voting people misspelled my name, so that was a given.

I used to have a neighbor named Magdalena. We called her Maggie. She was from Argentina. She had a brother named Ignacio. We called him Iggy ;)

I love Argentineans. And the lady I volunteer with, she calls me Magdalene always. I don't see the point in correcting her.

I used to have a non-Argentinean CCD teacher and she called me Ophelia. I didn't correct her either.

Giving out Russian names sounds like SO MUCH fun. I'm not sure if it's because everything sounds hunky dory to me right now (seriously, I'm in way too good a mood) or if that would actually be enjoyable. I'm guessing with a mix of both.

It was fun. We got to make name tags and everything!

I gave the Jessica in class the name Yessika. But that's lame.

Now that I have access to my Russian name site, I hereby christen you... Serafima. It means "fiery one."

They offer Russian at UAA, so I've decided that Justine and I need to major in it. And then go to Austria and speak Russian there. The pointlessness stuns.

And thank you!! Dude, I am getting so old. But soon you will be too! Just you wait, Miss Madita, just you wait.

But, darling, they don't speak Russian in Austria.

Also? I have a 168 MB birthday present for you that yousendit is just not into. So... you need to get on YIM. And then I will Russian-name you.

I know they don't speak Russian in Austria! It's all about the quirky charm, you see.

And, holy snap, 168 MB? *is mightily intrigued* I kind of fear that with my internet connection, there is no way that I would ever be able to download or receive such a large file. Damn it. Is YSI determined not to cooperate? Because maybe I could get Wyatt to download it for me at school or something if you could . . .

Dialup is of the devil.
