There's no place like home.

I haven't LJed in a couple million years, but that's because the only interesting thing that's happened has been that I've come HOME! Praise be.
Let's see: the feast went well, no major mishaps, everything was hunky-dory.
We finally escaped the hell around two and went to do the self check-in at US Air.
And that's when we met the neo-nazi.
We're trying to check in, and both Mel and Mom are retarded with those type things, so I'm doing it. The nazi (who we didn't know yet) kept saying that it didn't matter who paid for the flight, the person flying (who he thought was me) had to sign in. Mom's all, dude, we're all flying. Back off.
In Ft. Lauderdale, when we did the same thing, the people checked our bags in with no problem. In Albany, the Nazi decided to weigh them. Two bags were overweight (hee) meaning Mom would've had to pay an extra $80 for one and $25 for another.
Mom's like, grr, GIVE ME MY BAGS, and she takes out the aerobed and other things so that only one bags overweight. The whole time, the nazi, whose name was James Rohrmasser (heil, hitler!), was offering unhelpful advice.
So, he takes our tickets and mom's credit card to charge us more, and Mom and I are leaning on the counter, and we are both hungry like the wolf.
Mom: So, how long have you been working here?
Jim: 35 years.
Mom: And you do them proud.
Me: So, how many times have you been employee of the month? Repeatedly?
Jim: Look, I'm just labeling the luggage so that people don't hurt themselves trying to lift it.
Me: I am all for labelling it 'heavy' but I don't think a red, five-letter stamp is worth $25. [Jim tries to make me understand] Seriously? Don't care.
And we made fun of him the rest of the trip.
Anyway.
Slept until 12:30 yesterday and 1:30 today, which is glorious. Went to the orthodontist today, which lead to more excruciating pain and more to come. Dammit.
I used to hate the music on Alias, and now I love it. It's so strange. I went on a downloading spree.
Tomorrow I'm going over to Tata's to paint her room with her, Jorge and her friend Carolina, which should be a blast.
And I need to write. Desperately.
Where is
non_horation ?

Date: 2004-07-21 04:43 pm (UTC)I don't like airport people. They're horrible at Richmond--very disgruntled and "ughIhatemyjob"-ish. It's like... I understand you hate your job, but seriously now, do you have to take it out on me? Because all *I* want to do is board my plane, thankyouverymuch.
Meh. :-P
