Tomorrow is my birthday.

I still need to do my Christmas cards.

I went to the movies today with my mommy. We saw "The Family Stone." I wanted so, so much more from it.

Mostly me bitching, but some

For one thing, I really dislike SJP. But because of the way everyone in the whole damn Family Stone was against Meredith, that automatically made me pro-Meredith.

It started out so so amazingly good. The whole Stone family was so unrealistically realistic. As in, they were perfect- they lived in a perfect house in a picturesque small town, they were open-minded, they were beautiful, the pregnant lady wore Burberry pajamas- everything about them was perfect. The deaf son was gay and had a black partner, and they were okay with it! THE STONE FAMILY IS PERFECT. And I totally loved it! When they ate cold pizza for breakfast, I loved it! When Rachel McAdams wore ugly round glasses and had rumpled hair in the morning, I loved it! When Amy smacked Ben's head and Everett smacked Amy's head, I thought, "Hallelujah! A real movie family!"

I loved Meredith! She was pretty and poised and she just couldn't get it! But she wanted too!

And that's what irked me. She was trying, but she wasn't a Stone. She didn't know how to be a Stone. This was not her fault- but instead of trying to help her through it, instead of being nice and holding her hand like they would do to any other stranger- they ostracize her and are purposely malicious. And I can't stand that.

- Thad and Patrick? Best biracial gay couple EVER. They were adorable.

- Sybil: Hated. And I mean, I love Diane Keaton. But because of her snittiness, and how rude she was to Meredith, and how dead-set she was against her from the start- I can't stand that. I was just so angry with her, because I liked her so much and then she was just so nasty.... arg.

- Amy: I wanted to love her too! And I did, inspite of her meanness. Because she was bitchy, and I dig bitchy. But she was just so mean and I didn't like that. But she was pretty and down to earth. And I dig that.

- Ben: Luke Wilson, y'all. I don't really have much more to say. His getting together with SJP was a lot more palatable then just about any of the other endings.

- Everett: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARG! Hate! HATE! HAAAAAAATE! He was with SJP! He loved her! HE WAS GOING TO MARRY HER. And then suddenly, at home, he realizes that no, she's not the one? After they dated for how long and he was set to propose and NOW he thinks no? And THEN, he spends ONE night with SJP's SISTER and oh, love of his life! Fuckwit. Haaaaaate. And I love Dermot Mulroney. Hello, My Best Friend's Wedding. And I still think that if Lauren hadn't been evil and Vaughn had stayed married, Syd should've wound up with Dermot. Yep.

- Julie: Claire Danes, where have you BEEN? I missed you so much! I love you, girl! Don't you disappear from the radar like that again! Back in the spotlight, you! That said- Julie? Haaate. How could you do that to your sister? There was absolutely no sisterly loyalty. If someone had treated my sister the way the Stones treated SJP, I would've left. In support of, you know, MY SISTER. And then the Fuckwit fucked around and she fell for it! Aaaaargh.

- Meredith: She tried, and she tried, and no one but Luke Wilson appreciated it. And she was pretty and educated and she tried! That means so much! AAARG.

- Susannah: She was pregnant and pretty much a non-entity. Also, she was the most civilized of the Stone children.

- Papa Stone: His real name in the movie is Kelly, and his name in real life is Craig T. Nelson, but to me, he is Papa Stone. And he was my favorite. And I loved him. Sybil did NOT earn a Mama Stone because she was rude, but Papa Stone deserved his name. He was wonderful.

About the plot- towards the end they just started trying to do so much, and if they had just settled with a few, it would have been so much better. Using the Judy Garland clip was brilliance and made me actually bawl. Not that other things didn't.

7/10 stars. But I wish I could've given it the 10 I expected.

Talked to Nica today on the phone. It's so cool that we've gone from planning calls way in advance to just picking up the phone and calling for no real good reason. I called because one of my favorite XF episodes had been on- "How the Ghosts Stole Christmas"- and I missed it 'cause I went outside to talk to Natalie and exchange Alias DVDs.

Also, my shirts look really good on me now. ;-)

I kinda felt the same way about The Family Stone, too. I mean, I went in with zero expectations (and because Rachel McAdams and Claire Danes are the hotness) but. . .it was so good in parts, and it parts it. . .just wasn't as good.

And I'm glad to hear that your surgery went well, btw. I've been secretly hankering after the same for a while, and a success story is always good to know. ;) But glad that the hospital did not eat you. . . 'cause. . .that's not cool. xD

I just... I wanted so much! The cast! So good! And... arg.

I've wanted the surgery ever since I heard about it when I was, like, fourteen... and it's amazing, the difference. And should continue to amaze me. If you're seriously considering it... you should do it, MIlla. Insurance covered it completely for me. And the hospital did NOT eat me! Yaaay!

Thanks for the review, I really had no idea what it was about. I just saw a few commercials and thought: Cute movie? Rachel? Okay, must see.

Lo siento, I totally missed your birthday. I somehow managed to not get online yesterday so yeah. Happy belated birthday wishes from me!
