Like the 'She will be loved' music video. I have a very comprehensive idea of how the story goes. And it does not involve older women in the least. It is, actually, remarkably similar to the Swill story, because it is the ultimate Swill song. Boy knows Girl forever, loves her all along, but never gets her, but is always her fall guy.
If he has "had her so many times", how can Adam Levine be be talking about his girlfriend's mother? HOW HOW HOW HOW? It makes no sense! He appears to love the girlfriend, which would make it seem that he met and fell for the girl before meeting her mother, meaning that the song isn't right and *sobs*
I mean, that knowledge is akin to figuring out that Eliza was singing about Professor Higgins in 'I could've danced all night' and that Jessica Rabbit was married to Roger Rabbit. WHY? WHY WHY WHY WHY?
