Sometimes seeing people from my high school is stilted and awful, because I didn't know them that well and I feel like we have to talk because I did know them and they're a part of my past and therefore they need to be conversed with. For example, Christine Tomayo.

Other times, seeing people from high school is awesome. Today coming back from math I ran into Blake, who I was never that close to, but it was so natural to be talking to him. And doing a cheek-kiss! The only person who I do that too who isn't from Miami is Ollie. I get away with hugs from Chloe, Amanda and Chelsea, but it is so weird going to dinner and having a people arrive and having no round of kisses.

I'm going home again this weekend for the most inconveniently timed wedding of all time. It's my cousins' cousin Danielle's wedding, and we spent most holidays growing up with them, so it's not like it's such a stretch. And it should be an absolutely fabulous wedding, but I was just home last weekend, and I'm going home for winter break the 13th so, meh.

And I've been giving this a lot of thought:

Stars That Have Incurred A Lifetime of Goodwill.

List celebs that can do no wrong in your eyes and why.

(Note: This list seems really incomplete, mostly because I looove people or haaaate people. Also, I didn't mention people who once had a lifetime of goodwill that was diminished to a a strong like [ex: Catherine Zeta Jones, Madonna, Nicole Kidman] that diminished through no fault of their own, or those who I used to like but then they did something stupid [ex: Lindsay Lohan.])

- Salma Hayek: I don't know if it was Fools Rush In or Desperado that made this possible (I think it was the latter) but it lead to me having a phase where everytime I said "Know who I like?" my mother and sister would reply "Salma Hayek?" Because I obviously told them I liked Salma often. My love for her is multifaceted: she is very talented, and very beautiful, and she is hispanic like me, and she is strong-willed and a really good person overall from what I understand. Also, she's like the best Latina ever, because she is always crusading for something important or other.

- Vanessa Williams: Yes, this entry has a lot of people from "Ugly Betty." Or, you know. Two. The turning point for Vanessa Williams with me was her turn as Rosie in the remake of "Bye Bye Birdie" in the mid-nineties. I grew up with the original, and I lo-o-o-oved the remake. It was so fresh and fabulous! AND VANESSA WILLIAMS WAS SO GOOD. Oh my god, guys. She was sassy and classy and really funny. And she sang fabulously. Ergo I have a huge soft spot for her.

- Leonardo DiCaprio: This really doesn't need too much of an explanation, does it? He was Jack Dawson in what amounted to the biggest obsession of my life. Ever. The amount of love I have for this guy knows no bounds. I have no shame in admitting my love for him, or for using that as an excuse to go see his movies. Ever.

- The Entire Cast of Alias: No, seriously. I considered having individual entries for Jen Garner, Mia Maestro, Victor Garber, Lena Olin, Michael Vartan, Ron Rifkin, Bradley Cooper and Greg Grunberg, but seriously? It would take up the whole list. I went to see Failure to Launch for Coop, and he was partially the reason for Wedding Crashers (... the other part being how much I like Vince Vaughn.) I have watched sooo many Jen movies, and I have sought out films that Mia and Lena have been in. Do you have any idea how many times I've watched Mia die (or almost die)? A lot! And I do it with a smile on my face and song in my heart because they can do no wrong. I watched the goddamn Mists of Avalon, which was horrible, except for the whole love triangle with Vartan and Edward Atterton (aka DANNY). I already loved Victor Garber because he was Mr Andrews in Titanic, and... and I almost started watching Alias years ago based on the promo! You know, "Daddy?!" Because I was all, OMG why does Mr Andrews have a gun? Now it's not "Why does Mr Andrews have a gun," but instead, "Why is SpyDaddy on the Titanic?" My mother's theory is that the root of Daddy's problems is that he still feels guilty about not having built a stronger ship for Rose. And Ron Rifkin? Forget it. He's on Brothers and Sisters and I love him. Love. (I turn a blind eye to the end of Alias.) And Greg Grunberg made me fall in love with him during Felicity. And I seem to have gotten over my ire towards Weiss. So, in a nutshell, those eight? Can do no wrong. None. Also, happy birthday Violet Affleck.

- Antonio Banderas: He was in Desperado and he was Che in Evita. And oh man did I loooove that movie in third grade. It is was started my love affair with Argentina, and what spurred me to read Eva Perón biographies when I was eight. He's handsome! He dances! He sings! He has a gorgeous accent! Dude, I even liked Spy Kids! And sure he's married to Melanie Griffith, but we can't all be perfect.

- Penélope Cruz: A relatively new addition to the stable of Stars I Love For No Good Reason. I think the points mostly came pouring in for two reasons: she was Pelagia in Captain Corelli's Mandolin, a movie based on a book I adore, and she managed to escape from Tom Cruise's clutches before he totally lost his mind. And sure, she broke up Tom and Nicole, and that used to upset me, but then I realized that Nicole Kidman kind of scares me. Not in Moulin Rouge, mind you, but, um, most other places.

- Kate Winslet: She was Rose in Titanic, and a Dashwood sister, crazy Clementine, and the doomed consumptive mother in "Finding Neverland." She is universally wonderful and beautiful and really? There is nothing about her I don't like. And she made a fabulous American Express commercial that I actually have downloaded to my computer because I could have it play constantly. She is wonderful.

- Sally Field: Was it Miranda in Mrs Doubtfire? Doubtful. (*drum-cymbal*) The horrible, horrible movie Sybil? It couldn't have been, I liked her before that. Whatever it is that made me love Sally Field, it did a damn good job, because I love her. I love her and her bounciness and how cute she is and how great she is as Nora Walker. And I love her Boniva commercials. They make people like my mother take pills. ("Sally Field tells me to!")

- Barbra Streisand: I grew up listening to Babs and watching her musicals. I can sing so many of her songs. I love her in Funny Girl, in What's up, Doc?, in Yentl and On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, and Hello Dolly and if I could remember The Main Event I'd probably love her in it too. I would probably kill someone to go to one of her concerts. It's a possibility.
