So, I just came back from the Worst Test Ever. Like, people are trying to tell me that I did better than I think, but no. I bombed it. Absolutely doomed. Which is no good.
However, I got a perfect score on my Poli Sci paper, which is amazing and I actually have a shot at getting an A in that class, provided I didn't bomb that test earlier today. And I got a 97/100 on my spanish oral.
I'm back in Gainesville again, and I don't have to be back in Miami until the 13th. Which, really? Is quite nice. Going home every weekend lame, whatwith the six hours in transit a day. I go home the 13th with Ollietron. And then I have Christmas cards to write and probably presents to buy, and then it's my birthday and then... PARIS FOR CHRISTMAS.
(Aieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!)
ETA: I forgot to say- UF is playing Ohio State for the BSC game in Arizona, and on our way back from Ben and Jerry's a news team stopped me and Chloe and Katie and asked whether or not we were attending. Suddenly, I was this complete and utter douchebag- talking about how I was hoping my parents would buy me the ticket and the airfare for Christmas, even though it was expensive, because "You can't put a price on Gator football."
I ACTUALLY SAID THAT.
Who the hell was that in my mouth to say something SO FUCKING LAME? It was atrocious. At first I was excited about the idea of being on the news, but now? Please don't air it, channel two. Pleeeease. And not only is it lame, it's a total lie, because there is no way in hell my parents are going to pay $175 for a football ticket and then like, $400+ for airfare to Ari-freaking-zona. Not when they're airing it on television for free. WHY would I lie like that? Because I am a fame whore. Sweet baby Jesus.

Date: 2006-12-05 04:16 am (UTC)I defended the Gators on your behalf to my Russian TA, who is a huge Ohio State fan. I was very obedient to you... and I decided that I will officially support them, even though I don't actually know what the BSC game is.
So you're definitely going to Paris? That's so awesome! Have a fabulous time! I want to hear all about what you think.
And you'll survive on the test, don't worry! :-) Yay for Spanish, too! I think I got the highest grade of everyone in my midterm (which I took in October and got back today!) and he specifically told me how much he liked my translation of a poem he gave us.

Date: 2006-12-05 05:12 am (UTC)BCS is "bowl championship series," and it means that we did the second best out of all the other teams based on a whole mess of different point systems. We're going to... some bowl in Arizona to play Ohio, and other teams are going to other bowls (Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Fiesta Bowl... etc.) It's just a major football thing, because whoever wins then will be #1 in the country for 2006-2007.
And yes, definitely going to Paris! We're staying right in the city and we leave Christmas day and come home the first.
No, I really failed that math test. And I'm kind of upset with my oral grade, because I got a 97, which is the same as the other girl I went with... and I did better than her. She even said to me that it wasn't fair. Like, I'm not going to complain, but still. And I'm glad you're doing so well!

Date: 2006-12-06 04:03 am (UTC)Thanks for the explanation! Now I can have a vague idea of what I'm actually supporting UF in. See, I would be supporting UVA but since we had such a crappy season we aren't in any of this post-season stuff. So I'll support UF because of you, and because you're orange and blue like us. :D
YAY for Paris! I want to hear everything! And don't let the French intimidate you... for some reason they've always had a real attitude with me when I speak French to them, but just ignore them. :D And also, they're insanely bad drivers.
I wouldn't bother being bitter about the Spanish grade... it sounds like you're doing great anyway, and if you know it and your prof knows it, but the grade doesn't reflect it -- what can you do? Maybe he was just being generous to the other girl. Are you taking it next semester, btw?
