So, if I started to write an answer to this week's prompt from alias500 and it's um, 500 x 2... what do I do? Can I still post it on alias500? Or do I just post it on my fic journal and have done with it?

I don't know the rules for that comm, but - you could try breaking it up into two 500-word "chapters"? Kinda like some people do the "ten drabbles that also work as one 1000-word fic if you read them in a row" thing.
