sunshine_queenI missed the Golden Globes because I'm dumb, and I saw pics of Jen (whose dress I wasn't too thrilled with, but she looked real cute and aieeee I <3 Ben Affleck) and like when Jen, Mia's dress- well, Jen's dress wasn't thrilling, but Mia's dress kind of made me want to cry (though thanks, Hanny, for finding it for me!) but her face was lovely and her hair! Yay hair!
ETA: Dude, it's like... an epidemic of bad dresses this year. What is with everyone? God. Even Salma Hayek made a bad choice and I didn't think she knew how to do that at all. Good Lord, people. Can we step it up for the Oscars? Please?
Katie: I have a really hard time believing that the CIA really operates like that.
Me: Oh, honey. Don't try. Just smile.
Rewatching Alias makes me realize the writers weren't quite as dumb as I thought.
Sloane was interested in genomes and whatnot before Emily died, which I think is interesting- it was for Emily's cancer and whatnot, but it's interesting that he would have had the information (or at least the start of it) at his fingertips for when he decided to search for Nadia.
Also, when the CIA investigated Vaughn because he was doing all kinds of secretive spyish things? Hellooooooo Renée!

And can I just get a giant... a resounding "ick" at the whole Sloane/Irina thing? OMGWTFEW. She's all, "Sloaaaane," or, worse, "Arrrrrvin," and takes his hand a few times and touches his arm and gross. I like recoil in terror from the TV. Katie and Chloe already know about Nadia (... I couldn't keep my love a secret! I couldn't! And once they knew Syd had a sister, they wanted to know if she was full or half, and then if she was Mommy's or Daddy's, and they wanted to know who the daddy was. I had to tell them!
Emily died and so did Diane and I got to see three of my favorite fannish SyVa moments eeeeever:
1- "They'll probably keep me in debrief me for awhile. So if I never see you again, it's been fun."
"Shut up."
And it's just so perfect and real and aaaaarg Syd and Vaughn reduce me to a pathetic puddle of squee.
2- When Vaughn gets shot and Syd shoots at Sark and then she runs down the stairs calling his name and is so relieved when he's okay that she rests her forehead on his chest? And then kisses his forehead? Forget it. My god. It was actually my favorite Syd and Vaughn scene for a long time because: too cute.
3- THE DRAWER SCENE. The nose tweak, they're all cute and cuddly and working but snuggling at the same time, and then she gives him a drawer and he's so happy and he smiles at it fondly and she pets his brow and gives him a kiss and oh man. Vaughn may love his drawer, but I love that scene. And him. And her. And them together.
And and and I can't ever quite get over just how much I love them together. I forget sometimes, and think "oh, whatever, Syd and Vaughn," but that's soooo not the right. In spite of everything, I love them best of all! They make me happy.
Happy even though I have to go the infirmary tomorrow to get them to check out my defective lungs so I can get clearance for swim class, and... um... I should have taken care of it on Friday, but I didn't, and today I had shit to do, so I really, really hope that they either clear me or... not clear me... before five PM tomorrow so that I can drop the class without having to pay for it. That would be sweet. I mean, I'm sure I could find a way to not pay for it if I'm physically unable to take the class, but I'd rather not find out. Damn stupid lungs and the damn stupid doctors who didn't properly diagnose me junior year.
