And now! Music sharing.

The selection is really eclectic; they're all what I've bought off iTunes. I also really hope these songs all work, cause this took forever.

If You Want Me- Once

My favorite song from the soundtrack of the movie Once. Very pretty, just like the movie.

Hay Amores- Shakira

Shakira's contribution to the soundtrack of Love in the Time of Cholera. Absolutely gorgeous. Anything by Shakira is great, but the... trombone? I think it's a trombone- really sells it.

My Dear Acquaintance (A Happy New Year)- Regina Spektor

Some people are cheap. These people stalk the free download page on iTunes. Usually they're duds, but this one is a winner. Listen closely to the background noise.

Wuthering Heights- Pat Benatar

Most amazing song ever, y/y?

Tim I Wish You Were Born a Girl- Of Montreal

My friend Amelia made me listen to this aaaages ago and it's catchy and has a delightful message. It'd be appropriate for Turk and JD.

I Will Wait for You from the Umbrellas of Cherbourg- Michel Legrand & The Flemish Radio Orchestra

Theme music for Les Parapluies de Cherbourg. The movie had a really disappointing ending (I don't usually say WHY DIDN'T THEY END UP TOGETHER?!?! but in this movie, I totally did. It was totally their own stupid, noncommunicative faults, but then at the end they see each other again for like, two minutes and then they part and it's like, oh. Is the audience supposed to be satisfied by that? BECAUSE WE'RE NOT.), but the music was phenomenal.

Mon amant de Saint Jean- Lucienne Delyle

This song's in French, and it's from like, the 1940s. I know this cause I heard it in Le dernier métro, one of the ten thousand Gérard Depardieu movies I saw last year. I was fine with that, but apparently some of my peers were annoying. I was more fascinated. How is it possible for one man to be in almost every great French movie? Talent, people. Talent.

Vois sur ton chemin- Les Choristes

Another song in French. It's what happens when you study a language for fourteen years. Anyway, this is from the really sweet movie Les Choristes, about a chorus of boys in a boarding school in like, 1950s France. The boys have voices like angels.

How Can Love Survive- Kurt Kasznar, Marion Marlowe & Patricia Neway

Song from the original song library of The Sound of Music, sang by Max and the Baroness. And of course, it is second only to Edelweiss in its awesomeness. It's even snarky! Oh, TSOM.

In These Shoes?- Kirsty MacColl

First heard this due to [livejournal.com profile] counteragent's awesome Alias vid. It's just one of those WOOO GIRLS ARE AWESOME songs that I always enjoy listening too.

La Vie en rose- Edith Piaf

A classic.

I Ain't Down Yet- Debbie Reynolds

Girl power! The Unsinkable Molly Brown has an amazing soundtrack, but this one has a special place in my heart because when I watched movies when I was little, I had a habit of... forgetting the entire second half of the movie? So this is in the first half, so you'd best believe I know the words.

What Was a Woman to do- David Yazbek & Joanna Gleason

From the musical "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels." The musical itself was okay, but this song was just awesome.

Irgendwo Auf Der Welt- Comedian Harmonists

This time in German! Comedian Harmonists was a famous sextet between 1927 and 1934, which is when Hitler was all NO MORE SINGING JEWS! and half the group was like :( and had to leave. They have some freakishly touching music and their harmonizing is amazing.

Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet- The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra & Chorus

Theme music from Franco Zefferelli's Romeo and Juliet, aka the version without Leonardo DiCaprio. I really, really hate the R&J story, but this music can pretty much make me sit in front of the film. At least until it starts going downhill with the subterfuge and the death and the doom and the angst. Stupid teenagers.

I Want to be Evil- Chiwetel Ejiofor

Cover by Chiwetel Ejiofor (aka the guy Keira Knightley marries in Love, Actually and the bad guy that wasn't a reaver from Serenity) as a drag queen in Kinky Boots. It's pretty rad.

You're the Top (With Ryan O'Neal)- Barbra Streisand

My love for Barbra Streisand is well-documented, therefore I offer this song with great delight. It's got Ryan O'Neal chiming in! It's Barbra singing a Cole Porter classic! Oh, What's up, Doc?, you are such an awesome movie.

Les Beaux Yeux de Laure- Alain Chamfort

Just a fun French song. It's fun and catchy.
