Jan. 3rd, 2009 02:26 amSo Hannah left this morning after being with me for what was technically five days, but was really three days, plus an evening and part of a morning. She is a delightful guest and I enjoyed having her here immensely. She did a post her visit with more pictures, but that's because she's cooler than I am. She is a delight in all ways, except for when she's trying to gross me out. Or when she's being a turd.

This is a loooone flamingo. There was a crowd of a jillion, but this one was an outcast. Or just better than them.

One of three tigers! I far prefer him to to the white one.

I believe these are caimans, but I could be wrong. Anyway, they're teeny crocodiles, and there they are, doing the reptilian equivalent of cuddling.

The first night-blooming jasmine Hannah's encountered. I forgot to tell her there is a GINORMOUS BUSH of it outside my bedroom window at home. This stuff smells delicious.

Hannah in the nest! There are three, and it's practically an obligation that people take pictures in at least one.

Me in a nest. It's cutesy.

Meercats!

All his brethren were running about and playing and being generally adorable, and he was just like, yeah, I'ma watch some football.

Elephants are cute!

Hannah got a great shot of the lioness yawning. There are apparently no lions, at least not in evidence.

LOOK HOW CUTE THIS CAMEL WAS. He was smiling. Adorable.

This camel seemed restless. Or very into exercise.

Hannah, riding a fake camel.

Um, I LOVE GIRAFFES. And there was this new thing where you could feed the giraffes but I didn't want to wait in the line so I just took pictures of my FAVORITE ANIMALS EVER.

Looking at me! I love them.

Hannah by the reservoir.

Both of us by the reservoir. We both really suck at taking pictures at both of us together.

THE OTTERS. They were literally giant otters (the sign said so) and they were super adorable and they chirped at us and when it was only me and Hannah, they would actually look up at us when they swam around.

He seriously was looking right at us, bless him. Best part of the zoo, easy.

Creepiest crocodile ever.

Family of kangaroos! They were just precious. I never realized how enchanting they are.

Me and Hannah after the zoo closed, waiting on my papa. We didn't plan for our outfits to match.
I would have that girl back in a heartbeat! She is most agreeable. Also she does this wicked awesome Minnesotan accent that makes everything in life like ten times better. It's hilarious.

Date: 2009-01-03 08:07 am (UTC)And seriously, thank you so much for inviting me back this year, and to your family for housing me, and to your mother for going above and beyond the call of duty when it came to cooking and taking me shopping (especially considering she was in pain), and to your dad for being...well, your dad. And of course, Mel for keeping me company and entertained while you went to the doctor. You are all super super super awesome, girly.
