Thought of the day: I think that being a writer for a soap opera would be the greatest job ever. You can be as ridiculous as you want ALL THE TIME and no one will ever call you on it, at least not seriously.

This is in fact very much NOT true but you certainly could get away with more XD But soap opera writers get tons of flack for the crap they pull, at least from fans.

Dude. People come back from the dead after being spiritual guides for other characters who have died. There are evil twins, replacement actors, actors who come back to their original role therefore replacing the replacement actor, murderous rampages, tornadoes that ruin towns, people who can legitimately shout "I AM [CHARACTER'S NAME]" to a bear and have the bear run away, people who get married over ten times, multiple times to the same person. I was raised on soaps, and the shit they pull is bananas.

That's true but it doesn't mean that people like it. I read soap columns and they constantly criticize the writers for the stupidest stuff.
