Two quick thoughts about Nine:
(1) It is the story of Gaius Baltar's life if Gaius Baltar was an Italian film director in the 1950s.
(2)THERE ARE NOT NINE WOMEN. WTF. I AM NOW REALLY CONFUSED BY THE TITLE. So, wherever I heard it's because there are nine women lied, because it's called Nine because it was based on Fellini's 8 1/2, and whoever made the musical version said that adding music added the final half. Or something. IDK.
