Today, in french, I nearly fell asleep because I was up last night 'til midnight looking at cars online with Momma. Because Momma wants Daddy to sell the apartment (Gom, i typed 'apt.' five zillion times there) building and get us about much money as the house is worth and pay everything off and get herself a new car. And so far, the battle is between the Laredo, the Liberty, some icky Honda or another, and Mom would like a Mini. But whatever.
And I am DYING for a Laredo. It is my Favorite Realistic Car Ever. Because my favorite car of all time (aside of all Mercedeses except the one that looks like a box) is the black Hummer, aka SIMON'S CAR. Which we all exclaim everytime we see one. Which, in Miami, is often.
So I was like, falling asleep in french. Which doesn't matter much, seeing as I am kicking ass in that class. Glorious, glorious sigh.
Today in chem we did this fun lab that involved hydrochloric acid (Which makes me think of Vaughn, the Evil Chinese Dentist, and Lauren), antacids, and this stuff that make the antacid + the HCl pink when you added Sodium Hydroxide to it. It was wicked awesome.
In lunch it rained really, really hard. And it thundered like whoa. Patterson actually made us go inside ten minutes before lunch ended. And since Corradino went to some island over the weekend (the hell, right?) and hence had three days of busywork and outlines to grade, he made us do another outline. My life? Joyous, I say. I spent a lot of the class talking to Venessa Figueroa, who's actually pretty nice, and Ana Mendieta and Axelle. Venessa has a frightening amount of relatives. As in, she's got us all beat. Her dad has TWELVE siblings. Her mom has FIVE. Venessa's got SEVEN step-, half- and whole siblings. That's like Wahlmaart huge.
Then I went to the orthodontist to fix something that had broken. And everyone knows me there. Which still kinda freaks me out.
And then I went to volunteering. I changed my schedule so it's now 4-6 instead of the original 3:30-5:30 (which is impossible now because of my bus) and the later 3:30-6:30 because Nuria is crazy. Grace was really nice about changing me.
Since my floor is the same one Mommy works at, she had the supervisor Lynn looking out for me. Lynn was uber sweet and sent me to follow some care assistant named Irma. Irma said she didn't do rounds until 4, so I should stock the rooms. I did.
The first room we went to houses a 22-year-old named "Tyler" (because I could get arrested for breaking confidentiality. Or something). By rights, he shouldn't be there at the hospital. Anyway, I wound up staying to play Uno with him, and then a trio of UM girls came and took both of us to 3-East to visit a patient and we played Jenga. Well, I watched Jenga. Jenga scares me.
Then we went back to Tyler's room and the UM girls left and we played more Uno, and then I went outside to tell Momma about my volunteering. She got very upset and said she didn't like me hanging with Tyler because he is a lecherous dude that stalks young pretty nurses. Mind you, Tyler looks about ten years old. But whatever. She goes to work tonight and is going to tell Tyler who I am. Um. Like that'll accomplish much.
Whatever.
I need to write a story about culturalness. Or something. Due tomorrow. Rapture! Exuberance!
