coffeesuperhero:
In honor of All Hallow's Eve, I'm inviting trick-or-treaters to my 'door'. Comment "trick-or-treat" to this post and...well, you know the drill. Treats can be anything that strikes my fancy (pics of fave actors or pairings, one sentence fics, graphics, a few words about why I'm glad to have you on my flist, etc. etc.). The more "houses" to visit the more fun it'll be, so go ahead, open your journal and help spread the fun!

Date: 2010-10-31 11:46 pm (UTC)For my honeybee!
Date: 2010-11-01 12:13 am (UTC)"Gina?" she called as she walked in, surprised that she wasn't in the living room. It wasn't late enough for Gina to be in bed yet.
"In here," Gina's voice wafted from their room. Helena was expecting to find her curled up with a book in bed, bundled up. Instead, she was greeted by a vision in a black bustier and garter belt, long orange and black stockings and a witch's hat. "I thought you deserved a treat more than a trick," Gina said, barely able to contain her delight at successfully surprising Helena. "Happy Halloween."

Date: 2010-11-01 03:35 am (UTC)"I'll let you ravish me later," Gina had promised, whispering in Helena's ear as they watched Mimi try on six different dresses in different shades of purple and pink, and Helena had turned bright red.

Date: 2010-11-01 04:14 am (UTC)The Six who has a name but doesn't hear it often was instructed to turn Baltar's head, and she does that very well. Two years she's directed a slow and steady hemorrhage of information to her siblings, enjoying her mark's company, convincing herself that she is maintaining a respectable distance, when Gaius proposes.
"Excuse me?" She sputters inelegantly, nearly choking on her ambrosia. It is the twilight of a glorious fall day, and they are indulging in cocktails on terrace, the breeze ruffling the diaphanous skirt of her dress about her legs enticingly.
Gaius doesn't come out and say that his publicist and legal team have suggested it directly, but there have been several stories in newspapers that have come out about his lascivious behavior. Having a wife- even if it wasn't public knowledge- would make the courts more inclined to favor the libeled genius. "It won't change anything," he hastens to add, taking her hesitance for independence, "Just a few forms. Your employer need never know, darling."
He comes over to her, taking her glass away to loosely tangle her fingers with his. He thinks this is a good option, a safe one for him, regardless of how selfish it was. "This is so romantic, I can hardly think," she says pointedly. It makes the furrow in his brow disappear, and he laughs. Even if he is a scoundrel, she is foolishly fond of him, and wants to help. "I'll do it."
She kisses him then, restraining herself to see if he'll respond. He does, as he always has, and Six's heart beats faster, despite what she knows.

Date: 2010-11-01 12:57 am (UTC)YOU'RE WELCOME. (http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/10411183) Prepare to lose a few hours.
BTW, I'm not sure how it happened, but I know for a fact that the Six love- which lead directly to the Tricia love- is because of you, and I want to thank you forever.

Date: 2010-11-01 02:50 am (UTC)Sydney's father didn't speak about her mother very often. When pressed, of course, he had answers, sometimes even stories, but her aunts were a much better source. Kate in particular had wild stories about their upbringing, their start in music, tales about playing in bars and nightclubs and talent shows. She was willing to talk about her sister's personality and talents both, unlike Elena, who always seemed tinged with bitterness. Of course, Kate had achieved fame outside Strangelove Addiction, with her odd, mystical lyrics and theatrical flamboyance, whereas Elena, who had been renamed Helen and gone back to the name on her birth certificate, had recorded one album that was barely a blip on the charts. Once Sydney's first album had make headlines in Billboard, Elena hadn't returned one of her phone calls.
"Don't mind her, darling," Kate had said over the exotic tea, blossoms in blooming in the delicate china, "She's still seething with jealousy that the youngest was the strongest. And now, with you again. It's how she lives, it keeps her young."
Sydney doesn't want to think ill of her aunt, but can't but believe that this is true.

Date: 2010-11-02 07:38 am (UTC)Her lives with her husband are never as easy as the others', but it's always rewarding to return here. It's a relief to sink into his embrace, away from the burdens and trials of so many of their lives. Flawed and beautiful as they all are, this is the enduring truth, the same as it is for all of their family: they return to this, the endless expanse of space and time, the boundless love that ties them all together.
"Next time," he says after their last life, the hand he lays on her cheek reverent, "next time we'll be different." He says this as if they have a choice in the matter, as if in their infinite power they can control their destiny. She has embraced the fact that beside their family ties, their destiny is beyond even their power; he still thinks he can guide it through sheer force of will. He has always been stubborn.
"Yes," she agrees, because it is easier, and kisses him.

Both stories leave me sad but hopeful, and sighing at your skill.
Thanks.
