So, last night I watched that episode of Dollhouse after 'The Attic' whose title I no longer recall, because the title should be 'Shit Gets Real.'

So, I cannot even explain the last few minutes of the show because I did not understand them. To be fair to myself, I was talking to Tess on skype and still trying to recover from being betrayed by Amy Acker, again.

To review: I hate Amy Acker and her smarmy smugness and pretty bouncy hair and fancy-stepping ways. I know that everyone loves her and everything she does but I first saw her on Alias where she was both nasty and obnoxious and I do not like her. So, watching Dollhouse, where she was neither and even kept her smarm to a minimum, was a relief.

So NonDixon (his name is Boyd Langton! I forgot that he had a last name.) brings her in because she is his girlfriend, which, okay, and so she's chilling in the dollhouse, no big, and goes to talk to Summer Glau. And they're talking, seemingly nicely, and I'm saying to Tess, "You know, I feel guilty because Amy Acker is talking so nicely and I just don't trust her at all! I have no reason not to in this show, I just don't trust her! It's her smarmy little voice-" and then I stopped talking because I had literally slapped my hands over my mouth in horror because ALL OF THE SUDDEN AMY ACKER HAD SHOT SUMMER GLAU IN THE EFFING HEAD. WHAT. WHAT.

At least it made me like Topher a little bit? The best part of it was that Adelle DeWitt got to be gentle with him and I was like, oh, oh, you're not only awesome you can be gentle too I LOVE YOU (I think we need to discuss how Adelle DeWitt is very similar to my other boo Admiral Helena Cain. ♥)

AND THEN THERE WERE SCENES WITH ADELLE DEWITT AND MR DOMINIC AND THEY WERE WALKING AROUND ALL SASSY AND FANTASTIC AND HE WAS BEING RESPECTFUL AND NOT BEING OUTWARDLY NASTY TO HER AND SURE I SHOULD PROBABLY TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THAT HE IS A SPYLON BUT I WON'T BECAUSE HE ALL BUT HAD DAMN HEARTS IN HIS EYES AND ADELLE DEWITT LOATHES ARIZONA AND CALLED CAROLINE DARLING.

But I'm not kidding. Why was NonDixon in that room with the Clyde dude. Legit. I was all ready to love him when he shot all those people protecting my Queen, but now I'm totally not on board.

OKAY SO THE WIKI CONFIRMS THAT HE WAS ONE OF THE CREATORS. Which means that... he was the one that betrayed the British dude who is now hanging out in the Attic killing people? And created the little guy who lacks ambition and who lives in other bodies? I'M NOT KIDDING WHEN I SAY I'M NOT SMART ENOUGH FOR THIS SHOW, SOMEONE NEEDS TO EXPLAIN THIS TO ME.

Heh, why, who did Amy Acker play on Alias? (I only ever watched the first two seasons)

She was in the final season as the unenjoyable Kelly Peyton, one of the few bad guys I ever totally disliked. Ugh.

So what I got out of that is that there should be Whiskey/Cain slash now.

No! Keep Amy Acker away from my beloved.

I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DON'T LIKE AMY ACKER. I mean, I can believe it, it just makes me sad because I am impractically enchanted with her. (And on an Amy Acker high because I FINALLY made it to the Angel episodes where she shows up!!) Also, you don't like Topher?!?!?! This whole post is stabbing me in the soul, and giving me flashbacks to when you didn't like Weiss on Alias and I struggled with it in my heart because I was super into Weiss/Nadia.

Anyway: this episode is insane, and the Boyd twist never truly makes sense. I think it could have made sense if the show had had like 10 more episodes, but as such, it is inherently brain-boggly. I think they just did it for the shock factor.

BUT THE IMPORTANT PART IS ADELLE & MR. DOMINIC. WALKING TOGETHER, THWARTING CAROLINE TOGETHER, NO NO YOU BITCH HE'D RATHER DIE WELL SHE'D RATHER HE DIDN'T, ETC.

And the other important part is how Caroline and Bennett were rocking that girly love slash like CRAZY! SO CUTE, SO LACED WITH BETRAYAL. (Why are all my favourite love stories laced with betrayal? It is becoming a problem.)

YOU SAW HER ON ALIAS, SHE WAS COMPLETELY UNLIKEABLE. And my problem with Topher is the fact that he's a douche, which in and of itself is something I can... tolerate? But no one acknowledges that he's a douche, because he's so cute and quirky with his sweater vests and barrage of pop culture references and it bothers the hell out of me.

SHUT UP BOYD. I was finally digging him when he shot everyone to save Adelle DeWitt and then that. Forget him, man.

THEY ARE THE MOST INTENSE COUPLE EVER. Also, do not lie, this is not becoming a problem for you, it's been a problem for you for years! The SpyRents, Gaius/Six, etc. You love a good betrayal.

I do remember her character sucked on Alias! Luckily I had three seasons of Fred adoration in my brain by that point, so I was kinda just like, 'Why is Amy playing such a jerk? Oh well, her hair's pretty!' Really, I remember like .00002% of what happened in season 5 of Alias. WHAT WAS ANY OF THAT. (Except that one episode where the SpyFam broke into the Canadian bank, that was great.)

Oh, Topher! I get that he's kind of a fundamentally sucky human being, but his growth from Mad Scientist into Real Boy With Conscience is one of my favourite arcs ever. Also ... the stuff he says is funny and he has sweater vests. I'M SO EASILY WON.

Hahaha, I love that scene where Boyd shoots all the Rossum bigwigs and Adelle's just chillaxing in her chair looking regal as all and sort of politely bored. SHE IS SO LEGENDARY.

And, okay, as soon as I chose the word 'becoming,' I realized it was a big joke. It has always been my problem! It is my #1 shipping curse! But I don't care because it just always makes for so much awesome.

Yeah, season five is my least favorite ever. (THE CANADIAN BANK MISSION WAS THE GREATEST.)

Hahaha, I love that scene where Boyd shoots all the Rossum bigwigs and Adelle's just chillaxing in her chair looking regal as all and sort of politely bored. SHE IS SO LEGENDARY.

RIGHT? And she's like, oh my, I'll need to get the rug replaced like she's totally done with all these Rossum shenanigans because they're interrupting her tea time and that shit just won't stand. She is 110% magical.

Yeah, betrayal couples are one of my biggest downfalls too. I LIKE ANGST, Y'ALL. (I need D/D fanfic recs, btw.)

:OOOO YOU DON'T LOVE AMY ACKER? BUT SHE IS ADORBS! (Granted, I saw her on Angel before she appeared on Alias-- did you know that she auditioned for her role in her Illyria costume? Heh)

I FELT BETRAYED WITH THE BOYD REVEAL. SO SO SO BETRAYED. IT'S LIKE, IF DIXON TURNED OUT TO BE THE HEAD OF PROPHET 5 AND WAS BAITING SYDNEY ALL THAT TIME (but then, unlike Echo, Sydney has Jack and Irina who'd kill for her... but still)

But the D/D scenes totally make up for it. I couldn't believe we got a flashback to the time when they were all powerful and regal and powerstrutting around the house. PLUS Dominic wanted to die but Adelle didn't want him to. IT MUST BE LOVE.

Yeah, I can totally understand why everyone else in the world loves her, but I just can't. The very sound of her voice just makes my hair stand on end because it's the smarm of evil intent and ugh. No, thank you.

VERY GOOD ANALOGY. I UNDERSTAND THAT, AND IT IS A VERY DEEP BETRAYAL. Hate.

It is totally love! The D/D scenes were amazingggggg, I was totally delighted.

The D/D scenes were totally awesome. It's like, the TV gods granted our prayers and gave us this awesome flashback to show how they work so well together and then intersperse it with "I'd rather die." "I rather you didn't." and all the touching.

It just fills me with glee. <3

This pairing spoiled me, btw. The fandom's great, their ending open ended, but still great. So... yeah. :|

I am so mad that this show was not The Adelle DeWitt and Laurence Dominic Hour. EPIC FAIL.

The same way that Alias didn't turn into the Jack and Irina show when JG went on maternal leave? haha.

But yeah. The show would have been much better if it was the Adelle DeWitt and Laurence Dominic Hour.
[livejournal.com profile] dollsome made this, which is so awesome, I'll gladly sell my right arm for it to happen.
