Sep. 30th, 2011 05:00 pmBetter update: still haven't slept, but came very close to falling asleep at the table while I waited a thousand years to go up to my room, which smells like feet but isn't too terrible? It's also on the first (read: second) floor which is awesome considering how much luggage I have. So exhausted I can't even stand it. Also, there is a grocery store literally next door, so I got a demi-baguette and hope to enjoy it with the peanut butter I brought from home, provided I ever stop being nauseous with nerves/exhaustion. I did meet some other girls in the same program- two in my same general area, two on their way elsewhere. The architecture around my hostel is gorgeous, totally stereotypical France and OMG GUYS I AM IN FRANCE WHAT I AM DOING HERE? Almost started crying in the grocery store because nothing was familiar (false: most things are similar) and I am an exhausted nutcase, but oh lord.
Hopefully my next update will be less insane and more YAY! :D! YAY!

Date: 2011-09-30 04:55 pm (UTC)Oh honey - I'm just reading this with the WIDEST GRIN on my face! You are in FRANCE, MADI!!! You are LIVING! You are THERE!!! I'm just so happy for you! Have the most awesome time ever, okay? And if you're touring around the country at some point, I'd suggest for you to go to Malmaison (J. Bonaparte's main residence). I've never been there, but it's on my bucket list.
*ALL THE HUGS IN THE WORLD!!!*
