sunshine_queenIf it wasn't from the pilot being all "I was born the fifth of five daughters" blah blah blah oppression in Boston must move to the frontier, I would totally think Michaela was a time traveler. She's so ahead of her time! She's always got these wild and crazy ideas about women's rights and all!
Also, I think we need to discuss how Sully spends like, all of his time when he's not hanging out with the Cheyenne with Michaela. THEY HAVE DINNER TOGETHER ALL THE TIME. SOMETIMES HE COMES FOR BREAKFAST. AND OFFERS TO FIX HER/HIS HOUSE BECAUSE OH YEAH SHE LIVES IN THE HOUSE HE BUILT FOR HIS LADY LOVE. I am so in love with these two it's ridiculous.
Sully clearly learned his "I'M DISAPPOINTED" face from Michaela, who just echoed it, so it was a double-whammy of disappointment and I felt terrible just for existing.
And Matthew looks so much like Tahmoh about the face, it's quite nice and inspires me to like him more than I might normally.
I wonder if other men feel sad when they're in scenes with Joe Lando because he's so perfect.
OMFG SULLY AND MICHAELA ARE GIVING SOMEONE A JOINT MARRIAGE GIFT. THEY ARE TOO IN LOVE.
(I know that everything I type about them is in all caps but OMG GUYS SULLY IS GOING TO BOSTON BECAUSE HE MISSES MICHAELA I CAN'T I CAN'T I CANNOT.)
HE JUST SHOWED UP IN BOSTON IN HIS MOUNTAIN MAN OUTFIT AND HIS LONG HURR LOOKING ALL FINE N' SHIT. OMG HE IS GOING TO BUST IN ON HER FAMILY DINNER. THIS IS GOING TO BE AMAZING.
And Michaela is defending him but also she kind of has a date, which is crazy awkward, but omfg the UST between them might actually slay my heart. (Things that I would never guessed would keep me sane in France: Dr Quinn Medicine Woman and BYRON SULLY.)
But no, legit, there is this Boston doctor guy and he's nice and all but he needs to STOP FLIRTING WITH MICHAELA. THIS IS UNTOWARD. CAN YOU TOSS A TOMAHAWK, SIR? I THINK NOT.
IT'S A DATE THEY'RE HAVING A DATE IN A FANCY BOSTON RESTAURANT GUYS IT'S A DATE THEY'RE ON A DATE I CAN'T! And like, they didn't even talk to one another. They gazed and beamed. IT'S THE CUTEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. And then he took her to the opera! What is going on with this show!
(I will tell you what is going on. Sully is crazy in love with Michaela and IDK what she is doing with her life but omfg she needs to grab this bull by the horns and just DATE THE HELL OUT OF THIS GUY.)
AND THEN HE SAID HE LOVED HER AND SHE BAILED.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS HAPPENING IN HER LIFE OR MY OWN BECAUSE I'M MADE OF EMOTIONS I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER.
Okay. Okay, so she went home, and then she ran over to him, he caught her and SPUN HER AROUND AND SHE SAID SHE LOVED HIM TOO AND THEY KISSED AND HUGGED AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT MY FEELINGS ARE DOING. I CAN'T ACTUALLY PROCESS WHAT IS GOING ON.
They're courting, they're courting, I can't with them. He's showing her all his secret hide-outs! They're walking around together and he's being so precious. They're both concerned they don't have enough in common GUYS YOU LIVE OUT IN THE WILDERNESS TOGETHER AND HIS EVERY THOUGHT IF OF YOU, MICHAE-TOWN, YOU HAVE ENOUGH IN COMMON.
ALL OF THE SUDDEN THEY'RE DATING AND FIGHTING. GUYS MY HEART CAN'T TAKE THIS STRESS. YOU NEED TO JUST BE TOGETHER CUDDLING.

Sometimes I think it must be tiring to be Michaela. She's so morally upstanding all the time. And then there are times when she's totally nutso and it's like ay dios, you're good with medicine but sometimes crazy with the guy you love because you subconsciously realize that he'll absolutely tolerate your crazy because he loves you. (Sully is perfect.)
Also they're so ridiculous and cute and precious and how has my life continued this long without this show? What if I had never seen it on TV? MY LIFE WOULD BE MISSING THIS JOY.
"He's like the needle on a compass that points true North, don't you know that?" I DO. I DO KNOW THAT ABOUT SULLY, DOROTHY. He's entirely too good to be true.
In conclusion for today's Dr Quinn spazz out, this show is entirely too perfect to be real and I am so glad I found it.
So today was pretty good- I met one of my teachers who was really nice and pleasant. She was a French assistant in upstate New York in 1995, so I asked where, and it turns out she was placed in Saratoga! Like, of all the many cities in NY, she was in the one that I know the best. It was a bit weird, because she was saying how tiny and boring it was, which I totally understand if you're there to experience the US, but I was like :( I love Saratoga! Anyway, she was crazy nice. The second teacher I was supposed to meet called out sick, so I'll meet her after break. I met a class of Chantal's, and bless her, she bought me more fancy chocolates and then a bar of exceedingly delicious chocolate, as well as giving me the number of her doctor (in case I need one) and telling me about country dancing, chorus and other things I might like to do for fun. (If I was a joiner. Bless her, she thinks I might be.)
Today the kids I met had some really good questions- so good I could barely answer them. They asked about health care and what I thought about America's preoccupation with God, what I thought about the economic crisis, for details on sororities and fraternities and what I thought about Chris Brown. It was a total grab bag of questions and it was weird but pretty fun. I really won't know what this job is really about until after break.
