sunshine_queenRight. Have discovered a new writer in the grand tradition of Nile, UConn, and Cutie-Miri- Freelancer21!
Well, okay, so she's not as mind-numbingly horrific as Nile and she's not as great as Cutie-Miri (because, dude, there is nothing better than smelling heart in Von's eyes.) and since she only has two fics that I've seen, I can't say that she's hit-or-miss like UConn.
Anyway, Freelancer21 is a fun, spirited gal that writes insane AUs that are just great! Syd, in the Witness Protection, is an international rock star! It puts 'hiding in plain view' in a whole other perspective. Of course, that's not as good as the fic where SyVa meets in North Korea, circa season 3, and Vaughn lives in Miami (squee)
Oh, and today is Vartan's birthday.
Let's see, other things of importance:
- Had a good time with the Hoppes. We had fun, really. We watched hundreds of episodes of Alias because the Hoppe girls are grand and have good taste.
- Went shopping at Dadeland yesterday, as I had the mean reds. Almost bought myself a white Coach wristlet, but at the end I was too cheap. I got instead the 'American Idiot' single and a brown skirt from PacSun that's super cute.
- Ice cream at Wall's is inferior.
- YES the only season 4 promo fic updated, there is a god.
- The Hoppes are gone and woke me up early to do so. Meh.
- I have some great friends. Truly. I love you guys. Even though you caress me like a damn teddy bear.
- I want a David Duchovny shirt. Like, I'd rather have a Dana shirt or a Vartan shirt (or Vaughn) but as the song is about David Duchovny, having a shirt with the lyrics and the man, the myth, the monotone on it, like Nita got. Mmm. David Duchovny, why won't you love me?
- Mom wants to get a Christmas tree already. She's mad. MAD, I say.
- I am such an icon whore. My collection is astounding. And frightening. I love them so.
- 'Walking after you' is now totally my favorite song. I like the version from 'The Colour and the Shape' better than from the soundtrack from The Best Movie Ever, but that's just me.
ETA: I take it back, Freelancer21 is god. I mean, someone who can have Syd be a rock star, with a thing for Mulder, auditioning for a part on 'Alias', and saying that her most important relationship was with the dark rock musician Simon Walker is just god. And Vaughn as an FBI agent thinking that Jennifer Garner the actress is hot, while not as good as Rock Star! Syd, is close. This fic rocks on.
