Went on an icon saving FRENZY because I love me some icons. For the record: Illegible text is soooooo 2004. (That's a lie. It just drives me crazy because I want to know what it says)

Today was a good day- I aced the chem homework I snagged off various people. It was really cold, but I layered up and didn't die. Almost, but not quite. I had Corradino for the first time in a week, and I've missed him! However, my comments are not always so appreciated in his class. Sigh. I can't help it that I'm a nerd and know more about the 19th century South than I should.

Nor can I help it that I was forced to memorize the locations and names of all the French provinces. Sigh again. My teachers rejoice in telling me to let other people have a turn. Dammit.

I went to volunteering, which was not horrible, and I like the kids. And I had a fun encounter.
There's a little girl whose name is Charlene (!) but everyone there calls her Chou-Chou. For the record, she looks French. I don't know how I know this- but I've spent my whole life around French people, and I just knew, from the cut of her hair to the American clothes she was wearing, that she was at least half French.
Also, the name 'Chou-Chou' which essentially is 'Dear-Dear.' Philly's family calls her baby brother 'Bébé Chou'- Baby Dear.
Today, when I was pushing Chou-Chou on the swing, I say, conversationally, and to test my theory, "Qu'est que tu fait, Chou-Chou?"
To which she whipped her head around.
She spoke absolutely perfect french, which the cutest little accent. She's only three, so I didn't get much out of her- but I was insanely thrilled to know that I was right. And it was a cute little anecdote to share with the class.

That's so cool Sunny (the volunteering, French-speaking thing). Maybe I should pay attentino in that dratted class. ;-b

But the same thing happens to me with my teachers. Or at least in the classes I'm good at/enjoy, like US History. My teacher says that I talk too much. I can't help that I'm interested!

It's really cold here too (9 degrees Fahrenheit). And so concludes my ramblings for the day ;D

21*F, feels like 16. While I'm not the winner in terms of coldness (I'm sure Nita can come around and beat us all), it's still WAY TOO COLD. Scott and I nearly froze this morning walking in from the parking lot. We literally ran out in front of other cars because we knew that if we were to stop walking, we'd freeze.

Et cette histoire de la femme française est très mignonne. :D

I speak French. Comme tu sais. And this morning it was 10 degrees. Now, it's "mild," according to the weather people -- it might hit 20!
