Feb. 28th, 2007 10:20 pmSoooo, I am like, hiding from Buffy because... BECAUSE ONCE I WATCH THE NEXT TWO EPISODES THEN IT WILL BE THE ONE WHERE MISS CALENDAR DIES.
And I truly can't handle it.
And I have to watch it tonight because I leave in the morning and... and god knows I can't watch Miss Calendar die in the airport or in front of my family. Crrry.
In other news, I am an amazing packer and am entirely done except for that which needs to be packed in the morning. I have to be out of my room by 7:45 to catch the 8:10 bus thing that's taking me to the airport where I have a... wait for it... 11:55 flight. I get there at 9:45. Sigh. I'm going to be in airports for yeaaaars. Then I fly to Cleveland where I meet up with mi familia and then we continue to Albany where... WHERE IT IS GOING TO BE COLD OMG. :-( And then Little Amy is getting married. Yaaay.
So,
superswank interviewed me with five questions and below are my answers, and if any of y'all want to be interviewed, drop me a line, yadda yadda. Except whether or not I'll have internet in Albany is up in the air, so whooo knows.
1. What do you love most about living in Florida?
It's really, really pretty here. We have so much vegetation and such color. Even the houses are painted brighter colors down here, and the styles of the houses are much more open and flowing. We have bright, tropical flowers like hibiscus and poincianas and palm trees and banyans, and the weather- it gets really hot, but it's so lovely. Today it was in the mid 70s and it was absolutely perfect, and it's February. Not many other places can say that.
Also, the best thing about living in Miami is how diverse and international it is.
2. Tell me about your most treasured possession.
I'm taking this to mean things I would save in case of a fire that couldn't be replaced, and that would probably be my bear, my pillow, and my stuffed manatee. They come as a set, you see: I need them all to sleep. I got my stuffed manatee (how Florida is that?) in kindergarten, and my bear in first grade, and I've been sleeping with them ever since. My little pillow is like, 1/4th the size of all other pillows. Same size and shape, but much, much thinner, and it's about a hundred years old and by all rights should be thrown out, but I love it and I need it.
3. If an Alias movie was made, what song would you want to hear during the pivotal WowWrongBadHot love scene?
I considered a lot for this. "Aphrodisiac" by Bow Wow Wow. "King of Wild Frontiers" by Adam and the Ants. "Twentieth Century Fox" by The Doors, mostly because I love the idea of it as a Nadia song, and the idea of a love scene too it is just funny. I considered Elton John and Elvis. "Southern Girl" by Incubus. "Tear You Apart" by She Wants Revenge. I finally decided on Damien Rice and Lisa Hannigan's "9 Crimes" played softly. It would have to be a gentle event.
4. What is your best-loved quote from a movie/book/TV show?
Oh, damn! I- I can't pick just one, sweet lord!
Um, from a book I'm using a part of a quote from "The Blind Assassin" that kept echoing in my head from the minute I read this question, and it's "drowned, but shining."
As for TV show, it's from Alias, and it's the scene where Vaughn is being questioned after talking to sketchy people in an effort to learn about Irina, and he says, "If you don't see me ever again, it's been fun." And Syd gets this great face and says "Shut up."
And... and I can't even think of a movie, so- so I failed this question.
5. What was your favorite Halloween costume?
Hm. One year I dressed a beauty pageant contestant and had a blue satin ball gown and a sash that read "Miss Understood" and a tiara, that one was pretty good. And I liked a lot of the costumes I had when I was little- a ballerina, a bride, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, with ruby red slippers and a dog in a basket, and Alice in Wonderland...
And I truly can't handle it.
