So, exactly three days before school starts, I get a cold. How is that for bad luck. So far it's only been a bit of a stuffy nose, but I've been sneezing once every ten minutes.

I HATE SNEEZING.

I hate doing it myself. I hate hearing other people. It's insane, I know, but I would much rather, a thousand times over, have a wicked cough than SNEEZING.

Anyway.

I've read about 50 pages of my Hitler/Stalin book, so... only 200 pages to go? Woot. And then almost all of Zorba the Greek. By Monday. Oh, I'm so on.

Of course, the things I'm remembering are things like, Hitler's parents were twenty-two years apart, and his mom was his dad's mistress and he just thought 'what the hell?' when his second wife died and married her and oh, yeah, THEY WERE SECOND COUSINS. Yes, this is what I am taking from it. Fantastic.

In other news, my best friend's boyfriend got his head and eyebrows shaved off by the Miami Hurricanes as some sort of... hazing ritual thing. They're in pre-season practice, and Jorge is living on campus for two weeks... AND THEY SHAVED HIS HEAD. It is so, so funny.

And? Carol just called to confirm my going to the VMAs. Uber squee.

You know the trick to reading a long book with as little pain as possible? Read the prologue, opening and closing paragraphs of each chapter, and the first and last sentence of all the other paragraphs. They tell you all you need to know. :p

You caught my cold. You. Caught. My. Cold.

Maybe you weren't around me when I was sneezing, but I completely freaked out down in Florida. I sneezed TWELVE TIMES in a row at Sea World. I thought it was allergies, but now that I'm home and still sick, I know it's not.

Part of my wants to say, "That's so cute of us!" or "That's hysterical!" but believe me, I know how bad it sucks, so I'll just say "I'm sorry!"

Good luck with the books, and I'm jealous about the VMAs. :P

Three days before school starts?! Oh, you poor thing. I'm still in that happy, happy mindset where school? What school? What is this school of which you speak? Surely I haven't the faintest.

(Technically, I should probably get out of this mindset because I have like sixty trillion books to read. Or maybe not that many. But at least thirty. And, er, yeah.)

And, ooh, Hitler's parents' love lives!! If I were in such a situation, I'm pretty sure that's what I would be focusing on, too. Because that's just the way to go about handling such things.

Ugh... the book sounds painful. You should see the list I'm gonna need for class in a couple of weeks; each course has, like, 5. Fortunately I don't have to read any over the summer though.
