Feb. 18th, 2006 10:53 pmI have noticed that I am really, REALLY into being clean, and even more than that? I am really conscious of how people smell. Like, I get disconcerted when people change perfumes on me, because I associate them so closely with how they smell. Even if it's not perfume, but like, their fabric softener and hair rinse (Tata) or their shampoo (Nica.) I am very into smells and being clean. The day of performance, I brought my deodorant and perfume with me to school so I could reapply during the day so I would smell good for my fellow actors, especially Javier. It's not that I have a crush on Javi or anything, I just figured that since I was going to be all up in his grill, I should at least have the courtesy to smell good.
Anyway, I've discussed it with Nica, and she says that she guesses my habits are a bit above average, so I want to know what my flist thinks. Pleeeeease vote! Send your friends!

Date: 2006-02-19 04:05 am (UTC)I can't wear perfume because I'm mildly allergic to it; other people's perfume sets me off and makes my nose twitch and sting. So, yeah, no perfume for me. I smell quite fine without it, because I use so much shampoo, and my shampoo has such a fragrant, strong smell to it.
And the thing with smelly people... I always noteice... and sometimes it bothers me, but I never say anything about it. I mean, if you're gonna be smelly, fine, okay, be smelly; it's not my place to tell you to take a shower. So I was torn between "dear lord yes" and "I don't care." Because I care enough to notice, but not enough to like, make a big deal out of it.

Date: 2006-02-19 04:13 am (UTC)I didn't know you were allergic to perfume! Jeez, I wear perfume always. You should've told me!
And you always smell delicious, because you have that fruity shampoo and you use a lot. And then I'd use the shampoo and I'd smell no where near as good and it depressed me.
And I always notice and it drives me INSANE, but I never say anything. I mean, I get like, nauseous, but I never say anything. But dear GOD do I notice.

Date: 2006-02-19 04:49 am (UTC)Yeah, my shampoo useage rocks all. People try to duplicate it, but I have it down to an art.
Audrey smells here and there. But only because sometimes she goes four days without showering, because she'd rather sleep, and we make so much fun of her for it.

See, I would be horrified. Caitlin does that, although she has started showering twice a week, which is great for her, but just the idea- oh, god. I get sick at the idea.
Rather sleep than shower. Dear lord.

Date: 2006-02-19 04:29 am (UTC)Because of this I'm kinda paranoid in case I stink. :P I don't wear perfume, but this vanilla body spray (usally I like fruity stuff). I don't wear it too much because I can't tell if I overdo it. It's a sad existence, really. :p

Date: 2006-02-19 06:35 am (UTC)I have a friend who just went TWO WEEKS without showering and I was like "My dear GOD there are homeless africans that have better hygiene than you!" And her objection is that she doesn't smell. And, oddly, she doesn't. I have a VERY fine sense of smell, to the point of being able to tell what people have eaten for meals when they get in my car. But she doesn't smell. She doesn't realize though that you don't shower just for smell. You shower because there are dead skin cells and bacteria and all sorts of things that just like build colonies... oh dear lord.... *runs off to shower again*

Date: 2006-02-19 06:41 am (UTC)Forget it. I'd be like, I am NOT GOING TO SEE YOU UNTIL YOU SHOWER. Honestly. That's like... a bacteria farm!
God, I am so skeeved out now.

Date: 2006-02-20 01:01 am (UTC)If I wash my hair, I have to flat iron it again and that takes lots of precious time. Generally, I wash it once a week or once every two weeks. Anymore than once a week and I believe it might actually be bad for my hair.
I notice how people smell, but only if it's strong. I should have actually put 'sometimes' but if you have a strong scent. . . I'll notice it. I'm just not that great at picking up subtle ones.
Sometimes I skip a shower, if I'm too tired. I'd say I shower 6-7 times a week.

Body spray counts. I should've said "scent" instead of perfume.
