Sep. 15th, 2010 03:25 pmSo while other people my age are gainfully employed, or are in grad school/law school/medical school, or are taking a really neat year to TEACH ABROAD, I am instead sitting at home trying to figure out what to do with my life, applying to jobs with no real rhyme or reason, and watching a lot of television.
I've been thinking about rereading Gone With the Wind and blogging my reactions, because the last time I read it was... well, probably around middle school (first time I read it: age 11. There is a reason I am the way I am today, and it involves being exposed to subject matter way above my head at a young age) and since then I've developed this rage towards Scarlett and her behavior that I'm not entirely sure is fair or rational, and also, I'm pretty sure I can get at least some lulz in my own life while possibly bringing it to others as well.
My question is to you all, does anyone know how to go about doing this kind of mockery? I feel like a lot of these types of things are on blogs, and people find them... I guess by googling relevant things and stumbling upon them. But blogs are not LJ, which is what I know and love. What about tumblr, I could do it there- which might actually be a good idea. Also, is it even a good idea? GWTW isn't exactly a relevant book right now, seeing as it has no vampires, and it'll probably make me sad if I'm taking time away from watching Nigella Lawson and reruns of Gilmore girls to find that the readership is my mother and Hannah.
PS, these are honest queries, not me trying to make you feel bad and/or trying to rope any of you into reading a potential GWTW mockfest/lovefest.

May. 3rd, 2010 11:07 pmSo, because I'm most likely moving back home this August, and therefore canceling my personal Netflix account, I'm trying to rent things this summer that wouldn't be universally pleasing in my household, like films I want to watch solely because an actor I like is in them. So I'm on my queue, trying to find some special gems, and I find two Tricia films I have yet to see.
One is called "White Rush." There are four reviews on Netflix, and two of them say the same thing: the movie is terrible, but Tricia is, as always, a joy to behold.
Well, I say, of course I am adding this. And putting it to the top of my queue because I am always in the mood for some fine Tricia acting.
BUT THEN. But then I find this movie called The Genius Club, where, apparently, Tricia is a genius, kidnapped on Christmas Eve to prove God exists? Or something? IT WAS PRODUCED BY A SUPER CHRISTIAN MOVIE STUDIO OR SOMETHING. And again, there was at least one review like, this movie was trash but Tricia is great!
So the dilemma is this: which should I have take the #1 spot on my queue?

Dec. 5th, 2009 08:22 pmSo, sometime last month or so I started this cracktastic holiday fic. It's completely done now, but I'm not sure of the protocol regarding the posting holiday fic because... I've never done it. I haven't even really ever seen it, either. And since I have no opinion on it, and I'm sure other people do, I've decided to do a poll!

Jun. 5th, 2007 01:14 amSooo, we're leaving for Canada in like, five hours or something, and I am totally staying up to sit at the edge of an arm chair with my feet angled like Barbie feet to keep my laptop at the optimum angle for wireless connection stealage, and, joy of joys, it looks like the weather in Quebec is going to be less than perfect. Namely, IN THE FIFTIES. As in, WINTER AT HOME. This is bad, seeing as I have a load of T-Shirts and tank tops and whatnot and, um, one UF sweatshirt and and a zip-up jacket. C'EST TOUT.
We went to the library today AAAAAND we managed to get the Danielle Steel novel narrated by Victor. We have it at home but we (Mom and I) hadn't started listening to it yet because we suck, but now we will be listening to Victor read Danielle Steel's "Five Days in Paris" on our way to his native country, AND I AM PSYCHED. PSYCHED I SAY!
My photoshop trial ended, and I am depressed. Iconnnnnns.
And I am also kind of giddy at the idea of writing a long-ass post about the insanity that is my family. I have a feeling you will all enjoy it, seeing as it is 100% intense.
In, um, other news, I watched Garden State for the first time in like, three years, and I'm totally bummed because I loved it the first time I saw it and now I'm kind of meh. It had some GREAT moments, and I adoooooore Zach Braff (Scrubs = <3) and Natalie Portman is just precious but sometimes it just... fell flat. And that makes me sad.
And now on to important things:

O, I am bored.
Apr. 15th, 2006 03:07 pmMay 13th is the day of my prom. It was almost day two of Talisa's birthday, but that's been moved to the 20th. Instead, I get an evite (hee!) from my cousins saying that her daughter's baptism is at 12:30 that day.
And I thought I'd avoided disaster. *sigh*
Went to see "Failure to Launch" yesterday, and it was about a hundred times cuter than I imagined. The dialogue was actually quite witty and Matthew McConaghey (sp?) almost made up for SJP. The one who did make up for SJP? Coop. Oh man, was Coop delightful in that movie.
Came back from Gainesville the day before yesterday and now my spring break is essentially over and it's really sad. Where did the week go? All I have to show for it is a new outfit and another folder from a UF tour.
It's sad, realizing how pointless most of my LJ entries are. Once Alias starts up again (!) at least I'll feel better with my write-ups. They amuse me, at least. Besides, I have to post. I have a paid account and 108 icons to use.

Feb. 18th, 2006 10:53 pmI have noticed that I am really, REALLY into being clean, and even more than that? I am really conscious of how people smell. Like, I get disconcerted when people change perfumes on me, because I associate them so closely with how they smell. Even if it's not perfume, but like, their fabric softener and hair rinse (Tata) or their shampoo (Nica.) I am very into smells and being clean. The day of performance, I brought my deodorant and perfume with me to school so I could reapply during the day so I would smell good for my fellow actors, especially Javier. It's not that I have a crush on Javi or anything, I just figured that since I was going to be all up in his grill, I should at least have the courtesy to smell good.
Anyway, I've discussed it with Nica, and she says that she guesses my habits are a bit above average, so I want to know what my flist thinks. Pleeeeease vote! Send your friends!
