sunshine_queen: Tricia being fierce, as always. (Moonlighting- Maddie dip- _ladydisdain)

My sister is playing her music obnoxiously loud.

The highlights of my day were:

- fixing the computer in my room by myself! I've never been able to do it! And I did it and made iTunes work and I was triumphant! Oh man. I rock.

- watching three episodes of Moonlighting with my sister and mom. Every time I do I remember how much I LOVE that show. We watched "Straight Poop," which was just a glorified clip show, the one after it where Miss DiPesto and Herbert Viola solve the mystery of the haunted house with the ghost who plays music, and then! The episode where Maddie's in a funk and wants to have nameless, meaningless sex with a stranger, which FLIPS DAVID OUT, and he follows her, but mistakes another blonde for her, and gets arrested, and then shows up at Maddie's house at four in the morning, and MARK HARMON IS THERE! And he's an astronaut. How can David compete with an astronaut? And then I couldn't watch the episode after because I was too embarrassed for David.

I have UF preview next week, and I'm kind of terrified. I'm going to be in Gainesville for freaking ever- Wednesday through Saturday, and then? Then Amelia and her family are coming back with us. Woe.

ETA: I forgot to say that I got this letter from UF inviting me to apply to this... minority mentor thing. It's so funny. Like, other minorities in my field... is being a minority such a big deal out of Miami? I mean, at schools down here we'd need minority coaches for the people that were pure Americans, not the hispanics. It's so weird. But I'm definitely applying. I think. Ollie? Did you get something?

Why are you going to be there so long? Did you make reservations at the Reitz Union?

Nah, we're staying with friends of the family. Did you stay there?

And we're leaving Wednesday 'cause doesn't it start in the morning? And then we can't leave friday night because it ends at like, five, and it's a six hour drive.

Yeah, I stayed there. It made it convenient because most of the orientation activities were done right in the Union, so if there was down-time during the day, we went up to the room to hang out or something. (Or we went up to the room so I could fret and stress about which classes to pick in a less noisy environment.)

And that's pretty much what we did: we drove up the night before it started. (That actually ended up being my favorite part of the trip. My mom and I went for a long walk around the campus. It was very nice.) Except we left right after it ended. My mom had to work the next day.

Who is going with you? Both parents or just one?

We have good friends that live like, literally, six minutes away from campus. That's my mom's favorite part about me going to UF, because it's her best friend, so it'll be a mom-figure for me. And oh man, that does sound nice, to be able to do that.

Solamente mi mama. My dad's not so much of an events guy. Although I think he would've gone and probably had a fun time, because he likes learning about new things. But no, just my mom, and I... and doom, Ollie, doom!

Oh that's cool.

And I'm sure you'll be fine. The first day will be very overwhelming, but the second is much more relaxed.

The whole Astronaut Mark storyline really, really distressed me. I mean, kind of in a good way, but it was so very overwhelmingly like oh my God poor David aaah Maddie wake up already! Yeah. Like that. It sort of stressed me out. But then they lived happily ever after. In season three, anyway. I don't think I want to venture beyond, Moonlighting-wise. Therein lies badness.

p.s. You do realize that now that Alias is over you're gonna have to get around to Buffy sooner or later, right?

I couldn't watch! I was too distraught for David.

(and I know I have to get Buffy now. But I is poor. And I knows that Ollie has them. And we's going to the same universidad. So I think it will definitely happen.)

Oh dude. Do you own any X-Files? 'Coz I've been wanting to check out what that's all about. We could make an even swap or something.

I don't, goose. Did you not read about my plight?

Um. I guess not. I must have missed it.

I have seen one episode of Buffy in my life. Nita's been trying to get me to watch it, but I kept using Alias as my defense. But now Alias is over. (waaaah) and I don't have an excuse anymore.

Wait, I'm confused. I asked if you owned any X-Files so we could trade X-Files and Buffy.

*headdesk* I obviously don't know how to read. I apologize.

I own the first season of the X-Files, but that's it.

There was a Sam Goody in the mall here and the store closed down, so it was having a massive sale. Everything was like, at least, 40% off. I thought it would be a good way to buy some season sets of shows that I don't feel are worth the $50ish you have to pay for them. But the X-Files DVDs were still like $70. It was crazy ridiculous.

They're selling them now for craaazy cheap on Amazon now. Least, they were. Nita posted about it.

Yeah, I saw that. It's still kinda pricey for never having seen the show ever.

LOL! Snorkeling where?

Does that require money? Because no more moneys. Well. Very little moneys. That I feel would be better served through food. But I digress.

Fishies?

LOL, you will need a white people coach. That's great.
